Propulse and Zachary Gray do one another a courtesy with this split remix release. Gray’s take on Propulse’s ‘Corium’ includes Bibio-style guitar passages with an electro rhythm through the kaleidoscopic lens of Boards of Canada. Propulse’s refix of Gray’s ‘Palindromes’ takes form in glacial drones and submersive sub-frequencies, sounding something like Oneohtrix Point Never doing Eno. Beauty stuff.

sorry for my absence for the past week. i've been rewiring my entire studio and only now am functional with the headspace to create again. i'm also super busy and, for a very very exciting potential project, had to dig into my archives to find the original sessions from my album "Northern." as it turns out, there were two songs i started, but did not finish, for the album, and that did not appear on the album.

this is an excerpt of one of those. it's completely raw, unmixed, just as i found the session, but minus a pile of plug ins that i no longer have that wouldn't load from the original session.

i found it pretty interesting, thought i can see why i didn't put it on "Northern"... but i thought i'd share it here.

Orbital Resonance

Community Radio Tbilisi presents a monthly radio show A Beautiful Staircase in an Abandoned Building (ABSAB) by Ben Tupper, that explores the soundtracks of video games across various genres and console platforms. Each month, ABSAB features cuts of video game soundtracks curated around various cultural themes and selected by a guest artist with an affiliation for or working within video game culture. Video game soundtracks can be particularly unique in how they generate associations between memory, space and affect. With these associations in mind, ABSAB aims to provide a platform where guests and listeners can use the collected musical fragments of virtual worlds to explore the ‘real’ phenomena of our material world.
