Twisted Soul Collective's Stu McCrae, Jon Smart and Clive T present their first reedit for 2014, which is a rework of probably the only disco track Dusty Springfield ever recorded ''That's The Kind Of Love I've Got For You''. Originally released in 1978 and mixed by Tom Moulton this song really shows how the Queen 60's British pop's beautiful and powerful voice was so versatile. We only wish she recorded more disco in her lifetime. Enjoy x

The Soul in My Disco Mix - Stewart McCrae - Twisted Soul Collective

This mix was recorded for Ghetto Disco Radio in Feb 2018. I wanted to put together a mix for the woman of my life describing not only how we feel for each other but also those moments in time that two people experience and live with you forever.

Following a string of highly regarded e.p.s on the likes of A&R Edits, Midnight Riot and Ghetto Disco, Twisted Soul Collective set their sights on a label of their own creation. And with an endorsement from rework royalty Greg Wilson, naming TSC’s 2014 ‘Do I Do’ edit one of his top edits from that year, this dynamic collective clearly has the goods to produce something special.

For this inaugural release, ‘Love At Zero Hour’, they’ve teamed up with Savannah – one of Greece’s golden boy producers – to construct a sparkling edit encapsulating that joyous 80’s disco glitz and glam. Sprinkled with sensuous strings, staccato guitars and sultry vocals, loving touches weave their way through the edit. Reverberating echoes and filtered breakdowns are interlaced to expert effect, creating a level of suspense and vibrancy sure to whip any crowd into raptures.

First up on remix duties, Edinburgh’s Natasha Kitty Katt who’s released on the likes of Masterworks Music and Ghetto Disco, styles her re-edit into a summertime disco house stomper, coupling a weighty kick, sweeping vocal snippets and killer synth loops with a bumping no nonsense bassline. Think, turbo charged cocktail of heavenly goodness, with a healthy shot of unadulterated thump.

Finally, Liverpool Disco Festival founder James Morgan and top Liverpool Producer John Dean AKA THE BUMPMEN who certainly knows a thing or two about top-tier disco, offers up a cosmic of ‘Love At Zero Hour’, bouncing those vocals off into distant galaxies whilst resonating shimmery arps, a full frontal bass riff and luscious guitar licks around the far reaches of the brain. Hold tight for that steamy synth breakdown – a brilliant touch that elevates this edit into the disco stratosphere.

If this is what love sounds like at zero hours, just think what Twisted Soul Collective will have dreamt up in time to come.

Chuggin Edits and a collaborative ‘Reshake’ from Fingerman and
TSC.
‘Shake & Blow’ has all the ingredients for a peak time, hands-in-the-air anthem. From the exhilarating horn section and heavyweight bass, to Twisted Soul Collective’s masterful dubbing and filtering of the funk samples, they create a state of fever pitch enhanced by the ever-present buildups and subsequent drops. It’s a melting pot of energy. Pure euphoria.
As for the new edits, Hot Digits head honcho Fingerman and TSC join forces to take things straight back to
‘80s New York airwaves, with a b-boy styled, boogie reshake. Coupling those funk breakbeats with
squelching acid synths, a weighty double kick and a deep bassline, it’s a harder-hitting weapon to have in
the arsenal.
Known for his releases on Masterworks, Hot Digits and FKR and co-captain of Slightly Transformed
Records, Chuggin Edits lays down a low-slung, disco-house dub version of ‘Shake & Blow’ to close out the

Twisted Soul Collective was first launched in 2010. Based in the UK's South East a group of experienced music lovers,  DJ's and music producers were drawn together to form a collective to play and produce the kind of dance music that has rekindled their passion for what they do best & love!
