i made some progress! there's a lot more to this game than i thought there was.
i messed up the first time around, i guess... i got a choice between waking up and staying asleep, and i chose to wake up. that's when it gave me the text about "not failing again"... i wasn't really paying attention. when i tried again and chose to stay asleep, we woke up in the dark world! i got a proper screenshot of it this time, i got a nice little work around. makes the game freeze up like crazy though

anyway, not a lot happened here. its basically just a walking simulator, occasional text from offscreen like before. but the music's kinda ... calm? especially compared to the original cliffs. this and the dialog made me think it was ... more of an errand than an adventure, like this is normal. i'm not sure. noelle ends up waking back up though! so i think it's just, like, a weird dream segment thing. the dialog was completely nonsensical, i still can't make heads or tails of it at all! didn't bother writing anything down from it, since it wasn't very helpful anyway. regrettably i did get stuck on the only puzzle in the entire area.

there's this room that loops forever- a plus-shaped room, with four directions. i didn't realize at the time, but you're supposed to listen to the music. it gets quiter when you're going the wrong way, and louder when you're going the right way. when i got to the end, she just... gets woken up by carol?

anyway, im still making my way through it all, but a bunch of people got super interested in the last post, so i wanted to keep people updated. sorry again about the link :[ i know its super cliche but it's just ... gone? i've looked everywhere, but i have no idea where it went. and i can't even remember who it said made the game, so i can't look that up and find it, either. if you guys know any way i could check maybe through the files, that'd be cool, just... let me know...
