 (Houston TX, April 6) - On June 23rd 1963, the city of Houston (under direction of then Mayor Lewis Cutrer) and the new Houston Colt .45s Baseball Team, as the official sponsors (now the Houston Astros), welcomed home one of its proudest World Ambassadors with a parade, proclamation ceremony and concert. The concert performances were recorded, documented, but never released, until now! These rare recordings extend the legacy of Grammy Award winning, Houston jazz legend, Arnett Cobb. “Welcome Back: A Love Letter to Houston” (his new album) are those original sound recordings from that classic 1963 session in Houston music history.
