There has been a lot of buzz around the mysterious and relatively unknown producer, HI-LO, for his track “Crank It Up”. The track has already received support from the likes of Zeds Dead, Green Velvet, Curbi, Oliver Heldens, Umek, Knife Party, Kaskade, DJ Snake and Flux Pavilion. The theme of contrast extends beyond the name HI-LO alone, as “Crank It Up” boasts a heavy build up that then drops with a sub followed by a big bass warp.

As in many of my works, I draw a stark contrast between the emotions and sounds in the breakdown versus the drop, but tie these radically different sounds together with just a few key elements - in this case those elements happen to be the disco / funk synths I used, which I felt (along with the sample obviously) contributed to the title “Superfreak”. Ghastly - Lil Trick (◕,,,◕)

I have always been captivated by electronic music that breaks format - be it tempo changes, key changes, etc.; unconventional approaches to familiar styles of music inspire me. I've been playing out a few tracks in my sets recently that make tempo changes, and wanted to take a stab at making something that pushed these boundaries. With "Another Level", the goal was to translate the Dr. Fresch brand into as many different genre spaces as possible in one song. I ended up taking the track from a 130 BPM House, into 130 BPM Breaks, 110 BPM Moombahton, 140 BPM Trap, and finally 176 BPM Hybrid Trap. My goal with any production is to always represent a style and vibe central to my brand, but I believe that that style is by no means confined to house music. I'm always trying to push my artist career to "Another Level".
