We present ELDA Trio and their single 'Aleksandrinke'

The album is released on Two Rivers Records on 23/9/16 and catch their launch at the beautiful King's Place in London on 22nd September.

‘Aleksandrinke’ is a tribute to the Aleksandrian Women who mass emigrated during the 19th century from Slovenia to Alexandria in Egypt. This was due to economical circumstances, which forced a huge population of women to leave Slovenia to work as nannies in Egypt. The Slovenian women were known to be strong, kind and good as maids and nannies. There are many sad stories attached to this period of time as it meant that many women had to leave their own children and families to go and look after others in order to send money back home.

ELDA Trio - Aleksandrinke

Rick Simpson's music focuses on through-composition, complex ensemble playing and modern textures/rhythms, though with enough space for soloists to shine and plenty of wit and levity to boot. The band is completed by some of the young London Jazz scene’s most sought-after rising stars.
