In case anybody was wondering how we went from a random jumble of notes to an actual melody.

I made this a while ago, so I don't remember exactly how I got it to this point. The main things I remember doing were speeding it up and adding EQ.

Whether this melody was intentional or not is up to debate. For one thing, it would be very difficult to purposely hide a melody in what appears to be a random jumble of notes, and still keep it subtle in the midi. However, when you do get the melody, it sounds... scarily intentional.

As for what it could be used for, I personally think that the most likely theory is that it's a Kris leitmotif. It's in a song directly tied to them, and, more compellingly, the notes in the Pianpian melody perfectly match up with the ones in the chord played when Kris eats a CD Bagel from the overworld menu.

Personally, I have no idea why so many chapter 3 takes use this for their secret boss themes. There is no evidence (to my knowledge) tying this melody to chapter 3, and the only reason I can think of for doing this is that River and j5 played around with the concept and now everybody else has just accepted it as canon.

Overall, there's a lot to discuss with this melody, and I can't talk about it all here, but I hope I was able to clear up some confusion and give some backstory on this obscure could-be melody.
