Spent about 4 hours on it. I had a dream that I sampled David Attenborough on it so I woke up and went with the idea.

I went through three different ideas for this remix before sticking with this. I tried to follow the minimalistic melody of the original but it was difficult without it sounding too forced or too much like the original. I began with pitching the vocal to find a melody and then everything else fell together around that.

FEARLESS FEW CHALLENGE #21.

The challenge:
"Last month I released my latest Two Silhouettes album ‘SWOON’. A handful of people were interested in remixing songs from it. I thought I would go one step further, and export all the audio from the album and invite members of the Fearless Few to each pick a song to remix.

So Fearless Few challenge #21 is this:

1) Choose any song from the album SWOON (whichever you hate the least!), and tell me which one you’ve picked in the comments below. I’ll then send you a link to a folder of audio stems you can download, as soon as possible.

2) Remix the song however you like. How you do so is completely up to you. You can simply tweak it, or you can completely reinvent the track and make it unrecognisable. Use as much or as little of the original as you like. You’re welcome to only use the vocals if you prefer, or to make it instrumental. Any genre of remix is equally welcome.

3) I’m going to suggest people spend about 180 minutes on remixing their chosen song, however you are welcome to spend any number of hours that you wish (just perhaps mention how many hours you spent when submitting).

4) You have until Thursday 28th of December to submit. This is just a target date, so it’s not life or death if you’re late submitting – better late than never. Submit by simply uploading to Soundcloud and linking on this page.

5) I will send a £30 gift voucher for a music download website to the producer of my favourite remix, who I will also hype on social media. Everyone who submits a remix will get a free download code for the original album. And, if people are ok with the idea – every entrant would receive a free download code for a compilation of the remixes. Plus I’d be happy to return the favour and remix songs by the entrants if invited to."

Still a little to do but the main bulk is there. Built the track around the outro of the original and then worked the rest of the sounds in. Tempted to put more of a banging kick/bass alas probably doesn't need it.

TWO SILHOUETTES is a project written and produced by Sam Holloway, with contributions from singers including Clive Browne, Francesca Allen, Imran Rumjon, Sam Hacking, Dave Selby and Ollie Godwin, and musicians including Kev Cousins (bass), Liam Doyle (saxophone), Anna-Helena McLean (cello), Mallory Khalifa (cahon), and Lucy Newholm (flute).

Two Silhouettes is based in London. Sam grew up near Bristol then moved to South London, where he began self-producing an album or two a year. Two Silhouettes have a habit of playing in dark basements, pokey galleries and French bars.

The music is one-third live vocal/instrument recordings, one-third computer programmed sounds, and one-third music/film/audio recorder samples.
