Snail, the 2nd track, hints to the highly venomous cone snails living in our oceans. Stingy, but full of colors. 3rd track of the EP is Squid, or better known as the blue-ringed octopus. Bright colors that changes rapidly in combination with flashing elements. Fast and unpredictable. Closing track Scorpion is full of power. Known for its quick sting and heavy impact. Before OOM Records was born, Jacobworld was already on our radar. And now, almost 2 years later, he's laying his ultimate skills onto the table. His debut EP "Circadian Rhythm" contains four incredible tools that brings you back to the late 90's. Opening track 'Cycle" contains an ongoing loop with some tasty layers. Deep basses, stabs and rhythmic noisy rides. "Regulate", the 2nd track continues with an intelligent noisy rhythm, a rolling bass line and some thoughtful placed stabs. 

On the flip side we have "Sync". An energetic loopy tool with panned out effects and of course the basic ingredients that Jacob is known for. Closing track "Response" features a tight sequence, tight beats and a subtle filter that makes the track swirl from time to time. An impressive debut is what Jacobworld delivers. And we can tell you, this is not the last he's releasing on OOM.

Power Dynamics is the debut by FORUM on OOM Records. Four powerful tracks with a perfectly crafted late 90's feel. Fast, loopy tools to create serious damage. Opening track 'Backstab' starts full force in energy. Deep basses, smart stabs and an ongoing sequence. Second track 'Convince' continues with the same energy. Heavy stabs, bold basses and strong beats. 

On the flip side we have 'Confront'. Different ingredients, same execution. Closing track 'Stalk' delivers a solid groove with subtle details. An impressive debut by FORUM, todays tastemaker.

Falling Curves (Original Mix)

Dental Stimulation is the debut by A Thousand Details on OOM Records. Aggressive, bold and energized to the max. A Thousand Details kept his own signature sound, but with hints of the late 90's sound. Opening track "John the Dentist" is a great example what the concept of a groove is. "Stimulus Downwards" is full of aggression and energy. It's unstoppable. On the flip side you can find "Electrocuted in Pedals" which feels like that track from back in the days, played in huge halls with green laser lights. "Boxed Innit" tops off the EP. Again, a highly aggressive, but functional groove.

A Thousand Details - Dental Stimulation | OOM007 (previews)

Inspired by his first bought techno vinyls back in the late 90s, TWR72 crafted his new project for OOM Records. Titled "iOi," it symbolizes a drum, with the 'i's as hands or sticks and the 'O' as the drum itself.

Each of the ten tracks boasts its own title, yet when the initial letters are combined, they spell out 'percussion.' Drums and percussion have long been pivotal to the essence of music, evolving from primitive beginnings to intricate forms. Their significance spans cultures worldwide, each with its own rich narrative.

In techno, percussion is key, capable of moving listeners without other instruments. The late 90s and early 20s witnessed a surge of percussion-driven techno, enduring as timeless and functional pieces still embraced today. Yet, this enchantment has only been fleetingly replicated in the past two decades. "iOi" serves as an homage to that distinctive era.

A natural fit for the Token label and now a regular contributor, Nørbak presents his new release ‘ Flauta ’ on the Belgian imprint. Keeping things driving and dense, his productions boast a raw intensity, continuin g to describe spacious rooms with roaring atmospheres.

‘Despida’ sharpens the tone and focu ses its elements. Proving he can do just as much damage with a more minimal approach, Nørbak drops the claps for shakers and whips up a distorted stab as the main driver of the track. Despite the versatility of his records, there is something very homogenous about the tonality of his drums and synths - they seem electric, and ‘Despida' truly nails that aesthetic.

It has been a while! SAMA is back on his label Maximalist_Minimalist after 1,5 years of silence. This time it's 3 hard-hitting and functional tracks, all heavily played and road-tested by a small handful of artists over the course of the last year. 

The fourth EP in the 'MXMN' catalog starts off with 'Concentrado'. A driving groove and a big focus on the tight and crispy drums take you by the hand before introducing an angry bass that takes you out of the functional, into the emotional. The second track 'Particularity' does justice to its name with a particular and playful-but-heavy groove, while the spaced out synths, almost breathing percussion and eerie atmospherics try to pull you in. Finishing it off, 'I Might've Misunderstood' is the least menacing of the three, but nonetheless a powerful track with tight drums, SAMA-esque bass growls and a thin metallic lead tip-toeing throughout.
