"Ty Bru has been professionally active in the independent music scene for over a decade and is currently #1 on the Reverbnation Charts for Shanghai, China.

A 2005 graduate of Appalachian State University, Bru reached new heights by attaining a total of 5 degrees including International Business, Communication, Marketing, Journalism and Management.

Shortly after graduation, Bru went on a small summer tour through many European countries, France, Ireland, Switzerland, England, Belgium and Holland. Later in '05, Bru moved to China for a business career, but always incorporated live weekly sets at Club Hollywood in Suzhou, verifying that Bru was destined for hip hop.

In '07 his debut solo album, "On The Brink" was released through Mightier Than The Sword Records, making a tremendous impact worldwide by boasting the honor of being chosen by a distinguished panel of judges as the runner up for hip hop/rap album of the year at the 7th annual Independent Music Awards (IMAs).

Bru's unforgettable, energetic and original up close and personal performances put him in a class all by himself as he has earned the right to share the stage with such names as Chuck D (Public Enemy), Jedi Mind Tricks, MC Frontalot, Rittz, Avril Lavigne (Shanghai), Big Sean, A$AP Rocky, Method Man, Redman, Andre 3000 (In Europe), Ludacris, Nappy Roots, Snoop Dogg, Linkin Park (Shanghai),Wiz Khalifa, Badfish, Yealawolf, Mr. Dibbs, Coolio, Ying Yang Twinz, Bubba Sparxxx, Curren$y, Dana Dane, The ThoughtCriminals, Poe Mack & more.

Bru is a member of the Iconoclast Crew, which includes the triad area powerhouses, Ed E. Ruger, DJ Phillie Phresh, Double J The Jenius & Stitchy C.

In '09, Bru released his second solo album, "Heart Core Hip Hop" with main production by one of Germany's most elite producers, Czientist, which creates more of a worldwide international flavor. The Czientist produced single, "T.I.M.E." reached #8 on MTV's Our Stage charts.

Most recently fresh off his third endeavor, "Triple Bypass: In The Ambulance" which included the Island/Def Jam distributed single "Stereo Sound," Bru has continued his consistency in proving he is exactly "The Way Hip Hop Should Be."
