Tyler Mitchell Habig (b.1995) from Avon, Indiana, is an award-winning concert and visual media composer.  Habig's awards include the finalist distinction for the 2017 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers’ Award, two IMEA top prizes, and the New Voices of Michiana contest.  In addition to writing, he owns TMH Music LLC which provides music and audio services of all types including sound design, mixing & mastering, and marching band shows.  Habig is a member of BMI.

     Earning a Bachelor of Music in Composition (Honors) with high distinction from the Jacobs School of Music, he also studied scoring for film and video games at the Berklee College of Music and Palomar Film Music Workshop.  Habig has received performances at venues such as Columbia College Chicago, Grand Wayne Center, Ernestine M. Raclin School of Arts, the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center, the Neel Performing Arts Center at the State College of Florida, and the Glenn Korff School of Music.  His pieces have been performed by groups including the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis, Ensemble CONCEPT/21, the Pops Orchestra of Bradenton & Sarasota, the Purdue Fort Wayne Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Empyrean Saxophone Quartet.     

     During his time at Indiana University, Habig was elected as Vice President & Chief Artistic Officer of the Hoosier Pops Orchestra in the club’s inaugural year.  In February of 2017, he judged the quarterfinals of the Bloomington Battle of the Bands.  Tyler was awarded a fellowship to attend the Chamber Music Institute at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music in the summer of 2017 for the commission of his saxophone quartet, Shi for the Murray State Saxophone Quartet. Habig served as the Vice President and Double Exposure Representative of the IU Student Composers Association for 2017-2018 school year.
