08 Li - Sending Forth

Nexus-6 tells the narrative of a character battling through a futuristic landscape. This character is being watched from all directions and is trying to find his way out of the Panopticon. At times he has the will to fight, at others he starts to assimilate to the environment around him as the Panopticon tries to reign him in. The title comes comes from the replicant model in Blade Runner, of the renegade replicants. This piece is dedicated to Vincent Buzzelli who this piece was written for and who premiered it.

intangible landscapes deals with the growing feelings of ennui & isolation i encounter[ed] living in nyc for the past 6 years, & how perceived landscapes of memory shift, breathe & transform over periods of time. many people i love no longer live here. is 'home' a real place? or does it exist in the quiet intimacy of remembering/experiences & ephemerality?

Cruise missiles.

You know that cruise missiles are a kind of robot? 
....
To explore the world at a really high altitude,
I’d like to remotely control a cruise missile.  

but of course the only problem is that cruise missiles are kind of 
menacing. 

Like, with the nuclear warheads and such. 

So i guess i would fill their nose cones with flowers and band-aids or something, 
you know, like, little notes about the importance of tolerance and understanding 
so that when i fly the missiles into other countries, it’s less threatening than a nuclear blast, 

but, but, of course, 

if i was able to hack in and take over cruise missiles with real live nuclear warheads, 
then it would let me hold the world hostage so i could take over the governance of the entire world. 

Which would be awesome.
