Psychadelevator

An evening at home chilling out.  I was playing with cakewalk and threw a few tracks together.  Let's call this a rough work in progress.  All I need now are people to play the other parts.  I'm hearing Djembes in the background.

It's a mellow ten minutes.  Sit back and chill out

DAMN FOOL
Feeling like a fool again, 
lost in the shadows on the way to the end. 
This feeling in my chest I feel so long has been repressed and once I thought I let it out 
now I’m back feeling depressed. 
I guess I really should have guessed, 
my life is nothing like the rest. 
If I could see repeating history I might just avoid the mess and avoid this stress and avoid...

I can’t see the future way in front of me
Only what I do now to build the way
And I can’t rely on what I do not know will come to be
Only rely on knowing I’m doing what’s right today
And our situations can drive us crazy

That everything I lived and breathed reflected what I didn’t need

I see all the things that motivated me through the years
That made me fight against the odds through insecurity and fears
All that negative motivation that made me put this chip on my shoulder
Put me down and counted me out and all that hate just made me bolder
And now I just want to put all of that negative motivation to rest Because my life is way too good to not be inspired by the best
I want to spread this love I feel and show the world how we live… yeah

Dreaming of the world I wanna make.

It’s hard to express with inspiration fading
Time to find a new catalyst and forget my old ways
But hazardous habits all try to reform
I’m captured in battle held by the sword that I’m sworn
My words and my actions and emotions are torn
I’m trying to live in the now and don’t let the past be mourned

But I’m caught up in the cycle of feeding on the negative
Or maybe it’s reversed and I’m the one who is the prey
Every day I’m finding answers living more like how I want to live
I’ll try to cure the curse and be the first, I’ll break away

Presently, it’s been hard for me cause I thought I seen something I believed was meant to be
And every day it’s getting easier for me to see
That it’s either right or wrong no room for something in between

But maybe someday the same one
 could grab the hand that I had out for her since day one
And until that day I’ll still play on 
The songs of my muse in her days gone
