"As Typeless steps into its fourth release, label head Aloka turns eyes and ears to the
horizon with a shapeshifting drop of breakbeat, electro and ambient. Fusing together
textural arrangements and genre hybrids, he sets his sights on
experimentation with ‘Inta’.

The opening track ‘Inta’ moves with a dreamy, indirect gaze and wistful melodies as though
sighing itself into existence. Amongst it all sits a subtle beat which carries it into the
dancefloor realm, yet it’s when they apex together that its weight blooms from the core. ‘B4
XL’ begins almost as an ensuing chapter to its predecessor with its ambient washes, but
soon ripens into an antagonistic electro number that tumbles between raging synths and
breaks.
On the B-side, ‘Chroma’ diffracts into a million colours, glassy eyed in its introduction but
hiding tyrannica kicks and syncopations underneath a swooping bass. The closing track
‘Movement’ slinks straight into a workout-ready guise, merging panting exhalations, pearly
synths and choppy breakbeats against the sensation of a spectral figure reaching a deep
state of flow.

With this second self-release on the label, it’s as though Aloka is so deeply immersed in his
complex vision that he’s stepped out of his body to watch it all unfold. There’s one word to
describe this image of him in his effortless performance as both label curator and signee:
fitting."

Jerome Hill returns to the label with a solid 4 tracker to mark his fourth EP on the label, geared towards the imminent return of dancefloors worldwide.

Each track offers something different, the crispy and playful minimalism of ‘Mind Goes Blank’ pairs up with the wistful crunch of ‘Knock Knock’ on the Aside, while things take a decidedly more ACID approach on the flip beginning with the big boned banger of the EP ‘Bombing With Imase’ and culminating with a heavy break and weaving 303 lines set against strangled otherworldly transmissions in ‘A Million Ways To Get ill’.

London’s Will Hofbauer makes his debut with the ‘Who Wants To Be A Willionaire’ EP via Brooklyn’s HOMAGE Records. Leading off is the booming anthem 'Caned', a gritty bass-heavy tune packed with rolling percussive riffs and wandering arpeggios. Throughout the new release Will explores a variety of styles, each showcasing an eclectic approach to bass and house music. 

The ‘Who Wants To Be A Willionaire’ EP, which also includes Desert Sound Colony, is set for release November 25.

@jenkemmag and Steel City Dance Discs unite for a high-energy compilation – each team bringing forth two artists of their choosing for a heavyweight bout across 4 tracks.

All four artists are up and coming international-based electronic musicians and DJ’s, regularly releasing records and appearing on the international club circuit (that once was). The combo represents a global take on Electro, Techno, Drum and Bass, and main room rave-style rhythms.

Jenkem Recordings is the music imprint of Jenkem Magazine, a skateboarding and culture platform, based in New York. Jenkem Recordings’ main goal is to continue to push the strong connections between music and skateboarding by finding new artists to support who have a strong connection to both communities.

Steel City Dance Discs is a record label exported from Newcastle, Australia AKA the Steel City. From House to Gabber, there’s no bracket for S.C.D.D.’s racket – the group has maintained a steady flow of genre-spanning records and tapes since 2016. With the members having originally connected through skateboarding, this collaboration between the two groups came as a natural one.
