He has been releasing singles since 2012, his energy rocketed with releases through Boys Noize and Sheffield’s Central Processing Unit (CPU) labels and numerous cool collaborations. His sound is combined from electro tradition influenced by the greats - Kraftewerk & Detroit sound - and modern edge, pop twists, moving dancefloor beats. His tracks has been picked up by many of the biggest DJs while sets played by Jensen Interceptor himself are delightful too.

Next up on Carhartt WIP Radio is @herrensauna, a Berlin based party collective and label dedicated to the harder edges of techno. Launched in Berlin in October 2015 by the Viennese DJs Nicolas Endlicher aka @thetruemcmlxxxv and @cemdukkha, the party quickly became a mainstay of Berlin’s vibrant nightlife scene. 

After hosting parties in various locations around the city, Herrensauna found a permanent home at Tresor club in 2017 and launched their eponymous record label, releasing three 10inch vinyls, before the pandemic slowed their prolific output. Instead of being disheartened, they compiled a Herrensauna label compilation, featuring Danish producers @sugar_fastforward and Historical Repeater, and also began making clothes. 

The latter led to their soon-to-be-released capsule collection with Carhartt WIP. To celebrate the release of the Herrensauna x Carhartt WIP capsule collection, Cem and MCMLXXXV conducted a mix for Carhartt WIP Radio that features fresh Herrensauna techno music by artists like Icelandic producer ©volruptus and Slikback (@freddymn) from Nairobi, Kenya.

Typeless Mix 20: Miley Serious

Bristol's @giantswan came to dance music after formative years as guitarists in the band The Naturals. This lends them a genuinely outsider perspective which means their music breaks rules the pair of Robin Stewart and Harry Wright didn't even know existed. Coming on labels like Keck, Timedance and Whities, it is caustic and twisted, textured and dense with layers of abrasive sonic fuzz. Add in harsh vocals and unrelenting beats and you have a duo that sits in their own unique world somewhere between noise, techno, experimental and rock.

There is no concession to your lockdown life in the mix they serve up for us this week. It is a banging and thrilling collision of hi NRG techno, juke, hardcore and bass that bristles with confrontational energy and raw texture while making improbable leaps from Dizzee Rascal to DJ EARL, Kangding Ray to SOPHIE, SOPHIE to Theo Parrish.
