In the UK countryside​, a long, long way from the Mojave desert, minimal upstart and Scissor & Thread signee Desert Sound Colony is readying the vibes for the inaugural Further Future festival, set to debut in the desert outside of Las Vegas on May 1.

Truth is, it doesn't matter where you may be when you listen to this 65-minute selection, you'll be zapped immediately to 3AM on May 1st, frolicking through the desert with the naked CFO of a tech startup and frying on research chemicals while dressed like a bedouin.

In Hour 2 DK steps up with a special mix highlighting just some of the artists playing at the huge Clock Strikes 13 series of events in London this autumn, which include 3 Ninja Tune nights as part of their 25th Anniversary. This Friday it's the XL Recordings party at Village Underground, represented in the mix by Zomby, Mumdance and Special Request, whilst on Saturday it's the turn of Hyperdub with tracks from Scratcha DVA and label boss Kode9. French Fries marks his return to Parisian label ClekClekBoom with his new release featuring two rhythmic weapons. Our top pick "Working on a Dream" opens the EP. Dreamlike synths and coin-dropping bells glitter overhead as drum pads and a steady bassline keep us grounded – all teamed alongside some analog bugs and machine malfunctions, due to Mr. Fries' choice to record the track on a glitchy tape before mastering. A slightly unconventional artistic touch to a powerful-yet-fragile cut for the dancefloor.

Working on a Dream / Shades of Light [CCB020] is out on vinyl on 7th December, and digitally on the 11th.

being in the time zone i’m currently in meant that i woke up just as the first polls were closing. i watched anxiously, while trying to go about my day as usual, as he consistently held the lead both in the popular and electoral vote. while not surprised, i immediately began to mourn for those whose lives will immediately be affected by the unfortunate outcome of this election. all i knew to do was to try to offer the tiniest bit of hope to them, to all of us. i know it’s not much, but working on this helped me keep sane (?!) throughout this tragedy. here is my ‘election anxiety/america is over edit’ of beyoncé’s 'formation'.
