Tytanium Armour presents a very special E.P consisting of some technical darkside techstep and jungle; paying respect to the past and holding down the ethos of the scene in 2025. Tycaine and Meecha with two pieces inspired by their time going to Renegade Hardware and Virus nights, Semiotix and Skru combine for some Neuro destruction and Tycaine finishes the e.p with a frantic breakage workout using a ruthless 2000 motivation.

Tytanium Armour Records return with their latest drop Contra Tech. After two vinyl releases from the imprint, it's a return to the digital space. Regular label names Semiotix, Meecha, Tycaine and 
Travesty return with hard-hitting productions, and Manifest contributes a killer remix of an already heavyweight tune. Lovers of the darker strands of drum & bass will gravitate to Contra 
Tech, as it features a heady mixture of tech-step, neuro and dark flavours.

Travesty opens the compilation with 'The Matrix'. Shuddering synth lines make up the intro, hitting the speakers and vibrating into the ether. Underneath, detailed percussion burrows into the deepest part of the brain, setting the tone for the rest of the tune. 

Semiotix's 'Dropship' wastes no time achieving top speed. The tune is a barrage of choppy lead lines and head-spinning percussion, with Semiotix deploying a labyrinthine melody among the sonic madness later in the track. 

Tycaine and Meecha collide on 'Phase Shifters'. Industrial bass notes reverberate around the speaker in the intro, with the two deploying intense low-end pressure and driving rhythm lines in the verse. 'Phase Shifters' is a no-nonsense banger designed 
to cause dancefloor havoc.

Manifest contributes a remix of 'Overhaul', originally by Semiotix. The remix is a weighty banger, minimal in scope and featuring impactful bass lines mixed with grinding percussion.

Release and Meecha close out the compilation with ‘Pitfall (2021 VIP)’. Here, spine-tingling percussion lines play out underneath distorted motifs, ensuring listeners are left with a track to 
remember.

Heavyweight trio Travesty returns to Tytanium Armour Recordings with two refreshed versions of dark and dirty back catalogue cuts. Characterised by a sound influenced by countless sources but nevertheless dominated with grit and groove, Travesty have found a home for their neurofunk-oriented releases on Tytanium Armour Recordings. Geographical proximity and a shared musical palette shaped by the darkside sounds from the early ‘00s ensure that the artist and label work together in synergy, resulting in a release which pays homage to the foundational sounds of contemporary drum and bass with all the edge you would expect from a 2024 production. 

Opening with an updated version of their 2018 neuro stepper Enclosed, Travesty instantly demonstrates their ability to straddle the boundary between the musical past, present, and future. Travesty substitutes a distorted reese bass from the original track with a more resonant bass reminiscent of Optical’s output from the late ‘90s and early ‘00s whilst still preserving the bassline’s melodic progression and skippy drum pattern of the original track, injecting a fresh boost of energy into an already monstrous tune. 

Techstep veteran Skru graces Tytanium Armour Recordings with a remix of Containment for the second and final track of the release. Heavily distorted reeses and thunderous amens come courtesy of the artist who has secured releases on labels as legendary as Tech Itch, Renegade Hardware, and Serial Killaz. Here, the language of fast breaks and deep basslines spoken by techstep ensures that the relationship between jungle and drum and bass is as visible as ever.
