Best of the Cloud 26 02 2020

Just like "Analog Funk", the foundation of this song was developed by Impulse, who supplied some of sounds through the Arcade plugin. These particular tracks were later condensed into a single .m4a file, a process that took multiple attempts to complete. This alleviated the need to download the Arcade plugin onto my computer but also came at the expense of restricted control over individual instrument parameters. Granted, this was a sacrifice we willingly made.

I asked Impulse to record Digital Funk at a slightly faster tempo than Analog Funk to reflect the hurried nature of the digital world. On my end, I restructured some chord changes and section durations and carved out brand new passages for more variety.

I pictured a Viking funeral and tried to capture the sorrow and lament of its participants.
When the instruments fade at the end you will hear the earth rumble,thats the sound of the warriors passing to Valhalla....where Odin awaits with open arms.
The rumble is playing from the start,its always present.

With their 2016 EP El Regreso del Gallito, “Santi & Tuğçe rewrote Paraguayan folklore” (Thump Vice, Brazil) and with their Songs for My Grandmother, selected as one of the best albums from Turkey in 2017 by Beehype, they remade Turkish classics for contemporary audiences. Drawing on their eclectic background and constant pulse for innovation, Santi & Tuğçe once again reinvent an unpredictable and enticing soundscape of the Caribbean and beyond.
