Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition we welcome @friendsofhannes

A young DJ and producer duo based in Munich and Berlin. Their impulsive psychedelic downtempo sound is mainly inspired by different elements of techno, house and psytrance. The characteristic rolling baselines, lush arps and organic percussive elements complement each other, creating a technoid flow with unique soundscapes. 

They met during studies and initially shared the same passion for different kind of music ranging from electronica to reggae. With Friends of Hannes, they started the musical journey together, exploring new progressive ideas and fantasies of floating thumping basses. Now, their spaceship started moving into the darker deep space, visiting distant galaxies to discover extraterrestrial sounds for you to enjoy: Deep Space Techno.

Bassi J, Italian by birth, turned into a global citizen through his wanderings. He started mixing in Hangzhou, China in 2012. He banded together with a group of students and created UAi - Urban Art Ideas – a concept of parties that would involve both art & music. These parties became popular and ended up being spread across several clubs in the Hangzhou area. With a great ear for music, his thoughtful, layered DJ sets are embedded with meditative and deep nuances – the end result is just as suited for a nightclub dance floor as it is for a private party. Although his music production has varied througout the years, the core message still remains the same: sparking soul-alike people through music.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Podcast Series!

On this weeks' edition we welcome Philip Chedid.

Noted for his versatility and musical range, Philip attributes much of his influences to his Middle Eastern heritage and western upbringing. In his young years, Philip was an avid percussionist, and played with his brother Julien and some high school mates, performing as musical act Elemental. Much of Philip's early nightlife experience began in the late 90s in Montreal at various events, many hosted by 514 Productions, Sona and Redlite. Over the years, he began working more frequently in the studio on original productions and remixes, and further developed his audio engineering skills. A few of Philip's early studio mentors are Nick Warren, Habersham, Darin Epsilon to name a few.

While in Miami Philip had the opportunity to play in distinguished clubs like Vagabond and Nikki and enjoyed residencies at TSL Lounge, Treehouse, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, among others. 

Chedid performed with some of the world's most celebrated artists from all dance music genres, such as Nick Warren, Jody Wisternoff, Dave Seaman, Eelke Kleijn, Marc Marzenit, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Darin Epsilon, Clarian, Einmusik, Omid 16B, Thomas Schumacher, Tamer Malki, Vanilla Ace, H-Foundation, Jody Wisternoff, Danny Howells, Miyagi, Jozif, Of Norway, Mikey Lion, Tara Brooks, Flavio Navarro, Zach Walker, Jonathan Will, Derek Hena, Aninha, among others.

Philip is also the co founder of "Endless Sands Of Time" Records along with Dübelu.
