Argentina's Kevin Di Serna believes in the therapeutic potential of music. He places great importance on finding real emotion and human connections in his productions, which have come on the likes of Innervisions, Watergate, and All Day I Dream and put him right at the forefront of the progressive scene. For this new EP, he links with countryman Santor, who is fast making waves and has shared the stage in recent years with Dixon, Juan Hansen and more.

The title cut 'Blessway' has already been getting support from John Digweed. A thumping groove serves as the foundation for a cosmic exploration with rising synth progressions and glowing pads taking dancers ever higher. A filtered vocal adds layers of texture, and wispy melodies come and go to keep things on the move. 'Please' is a more direct and driving sound with dubby undercurrents and an aching female vocal hook. Sugary, pixelated chord sequences pan across the groove before making way for more delicate and tender synth notes that rain down the track. It's a gorgeous world of sound that also comes as an edgy dub version with more emphasis on the lush harmonics.

Our final free download of the year finds Emi Galvan and D-Nox joining forces for a much-anticipated rework of Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’. Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Meanwhile, hailing from Germany but now based in Brazil, D-Nox has continued to thrill fans with both cutting edge music and enlightening DJ sets. Whether operating in solo capacity or as one half of D-Nox and Beckers, the German artist lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Bedrock, Einmusika, Sudbeat and his own Sprout imprint. Having previously worked together for Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank imprint, Emi and D-Nox also took to re-imagining Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’ earlier this year. Now over thirty years old, the Original version was the lead track on the British band’s third and most critically acclaimed album ‘dubnobasswithmyheadman’. As a favourite of Sasha, Digweed and a host of other A-list DJs, there are few productions which have stood the test of time in a more enduring fashion. Ending the year on high note, we’re thrilled to offer Emi and D-Nox’s much requested ‘Dark & Long’ interpretation as a free download. Enjoy.

This is a challenging time for everyone but I want to try to focus on the positives. Regardless of race, gender or age we are all being impacted by this Pandemic. Perhaps it can be a time where we break down some barriers and work together on a higher level to overcome this hardship. 

I think it is our job as musicians to keep making music and attempt to provide hope and positivity. One song can completely change a person’s outlook on life and we need that more than ever now. 

I will be doing lots of streaming over the next few weeks, both of studio sessions and of djing but today I will be giving away two of the remixes I did over this past year as free downloads.
