Dance of the Nature-spirits

This was one of four songs I finished one night, and it was the only one that I couldn't think of a title for. The next morning my kitten, George, had to be put to sleep. It seemed obvious I needed to make this song a memorial to him.

Musically, it starts off with a Dub and Post-Punk influenced section followed by a Hardcore/Metal section ending with a closing section using just stick dulcimer and soft drums.

Georgie's Song

A three part song dedicated to the god Carnonos (more popularly known as Cernunnos). Widely believed to be a god of wildlife, animals, and fertility, the Gaulish worldview sees Him primarily as the Lord of Liminality. It is He who opens the doorways between our world (Bitus) and the Upper and Lower regions of the Otherworld (Albios and Antumnos, respectively), and He may serve as a mediator between Mankind and the other beings around us, such as the Nature-Spirits.

Musically, this song moves from Neoolk with Ambient touches to a Psychedelic Post-Punk section and ends with a fairly aggressive "Post-Punk ppsessed by Black Metal" section -- all built around a Waltz rhythm.

Sedetos in Du̯orosentous (Sitter in the Doorway)

A song for the Gaulish goddess Nantosueltâ - ancestral figure, hearth goddess, goddess of the Otherworld among many other attributes. Some believe She has an island in Antumnos (the Gaulish Otherworld) where we may go to rest after death.

This song is admittedly mostly atmospheric nature sounds -- meant to evoke a feeling of being on Her island and surrounded by Her ravens. Of the four-minute total length, only about two and a half minutes is actually music (it starts just before the one-minute mark). The music itself is just fairly straightforward Punk Rock.

U̯er Inissî Nantosu̯eltâs (Upon the Island of Nantosueltâ)

In Gaulish Polytheism, ancestor worship/veneration plays a really big role. So this song is dedicated to all of mine (biological, spiritual, and cultural) -- especially Sucellos and Nantosueltâ, and my Nanaw, Mary Jones (all three of whom are present on the artwork -- as well as a very young me!).

Musically, this is definitely the most typically "Celtic"-sounding song I've ever made. I came up with the basic melodies back in like 2000 and they were definitely influenced and inspired by the Dropkick Murphys!

Welcoming Embrace of the Ancestors

A  single, long track consisting of pre-existing songs that are thematically and musically related to each other, that together -- I hope -- take the listener on a journey through Antumnos*, the Gaulish Otherworld/Underworld, the home of Sucellos and Nantosueltâ, where one may reunite with deceased loved ones.

A devotional song for the Gaulish/Celtic goddess Đîronâ (Sirona) -- goddess of the night sky (including the moon and stars), health and healing, and springs.  Her name is related to words for star, and She is also associated with snakes and eggs.
