Installed CS 5.3 and Hercules Apps on my W7 machine. Connected the demo board using USB. The connected USB devices are listed in device list as TI XDS100 Channel A, TI XDS100 Channel B as well as serial port COM10 added. Hercules Demo App and others are already updated to the latest revisions ( Hercules Demo Suite Launcher v 3.01.00 ). The board on power on seems to execute demo, flashing white LEDS in some sequence. I assume the SW is loaded. The Hercules demo app on the PC indicates an error on startup: "Demo software not detected on microcontroller" suggesting re-flashing it. "No" exits the demo app, "Yes" button reflashes the demo app: "Now programming RM48x_demo_software.out". Flashing ends successfully with request to push the PORRST button on the board and click OK. After that, the demo launchpad is running and I can click on the various tests, however execution any of them fails with error "Connection to microcontroller has been lost, please hit the PORST reset button and try again..." Why I cannot run the demo out of the box even if I followed the steps to the letter?


3.A thorough testing of the demo software was done on all the variants on which it is supported.We have not observed this issue.I will test this behavior with the demo software version 3.01.0 on the RM48 hdk once I am in office tommorrow.Mean time you can also try to use the demo software version 3.2.0 _safety_mcu_demos and check whether this version works.

 . None of the solution worked for me 
 I was getting following errors in config.log. 
 Package lept was not found in the pkg-config search path.Perhaps you should add the directory containing `lept.pc'to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

configure script uses pkg-config utility to check for packages . 
It was not able to find lept package ( although i had installed leptonica seperately ) 
 By setting PKG_CONFIG_PATH pointing to the directory where lept.pc is present , i was able to resolve the issue . 
 export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig


You can find it using the Linux locate utility at the command line. locate lept.pc. (If you've done some recent installing/uninstalling, you may need to refresh the locate utilities database with the command updatedb.)

The frontier tool is a utility to automatically adjust the respective RAM andflash boundary address symbols shared between the application and stackprojects built as 
split images
. Project where the application consumes thestack as a library do not require the use of the Frontier Tool.
