Song For A Sunny Day

A first attempt to use the Luhd binaural mics. Recorded with an Olympus LS-14 during a short walk in a busy street in downtown Prague, Czech Republic.

Evening Walk (excerpt)

A short binaural recording using the Luhd PM-01 Binaural microphones and an Olympus LS-14 recorder. 
It was recorded on a walk in early February 2019 close to Namesti Republiky in downtown Prague. The recording actually starts in the hotel lobby.
Some cars, a number of different languages spoken by passers-by, and trams rumbling along.
I cut out some the worst mic handling noise and a part that had a lot of wind noise.

This is part of a short recording with Luhd binaural mics and an Olympus LS-14. Wednesday evening in Canary Wharf. I cut the noisiest part at the beginning, which was just trucks and cars and planes.

Some distant fireworks recorded from my terrace. It was an August Saturday night, so quite a few people out on the river Spree, music playing somewhere, people in the gardens.

One of the few spots I could think of in Berlin where to record a gurgling small beck.
The result is better than expected as there were a couple of passers by who luckily didn't talk or called their dogs. Unfortunately midway through an airplane passed that can be heard clearly.
Recorded at 55 dB without lowcut.

A train passing recorded with a pair of LIne Audio CM4 in ORTF on a Sounddevices Mixpre-3 at 60dB gain. Lo-cut at 80Hz.

Some nice wind noise in the beginning.

Binaural Afternoon

A couple of minutes of a rainstorm raging outside. Recorded from a windprotected window sill, pointing ORTF towards the forest across the street. Birch trees in front of the house. About six minutes in, a neighbor resumed some drilling.

During a walk in the forest it started to rain, so I took shelter under a small beech and recorded the raindrops.

This morning I finally managed to go the Kreuzberg weekly food market again after I don't know how many years. Turned out that 10 a.m. was too early, vendors were still setting up their stalls. Almost no veg on sale yet. Almost no customers. But still some interesting soundscape.

A short recording from the 7th balcony of my hotel room in Canary Wharf. It was really quiet outside as the main road next to the hotel was closed for some reason.
I used a Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset and the Twisted Wave audio editor to record it.
One of the biggest downsides of the Ambeo Headset is that you can‘t manually adjust recording levels and that the low end of the recordings is really thin as they apply quite some HP filter to it.

A set of recordings of fireworks in my neighborhood in Berlin on New Year's eve 2019. I tried to capture a variety of sounds and fireworks but focused on the time around midnight, when most the fireworks reached their peak.
