“Producing an opening track isn't usually in the creative mindset for me, so It was a challenge I really relished. I wanted to create something that kept the energy going throughout, with a firm focus on the groove. This would set things up nicely for the rest of the mix. Being able to select music from Steyoyoke, Steyoyoke Black and Inner Symphony meant I could move through a broad range of different styles, from deeper stuff right through to Techno. Though for me all the tracks remain intrinsically linked, such is the inimitable sound of Steyoyoke.”

Strinner Presents Authentic Steyoyoke #014 (Continuous Dj Mix)

When a label carries the same name as the artist behind it, you can already assume artistically synchronized expressionism. This is the case for Dimitri Schnider, alias Definition and his label of the same name. Definition himself has been busy composing electronic music since 2009, and standing behind the decks since ’07. However, it all started with a drum set - the rhythm of which flows unbridled in his veins.

Definition is calls himself neither producer nor label owner nor DJ. He is all in one. This three-in-one combination manifests itself undeniably in his music. He relies on harmony, a music that is round in itself and at the same time knows no boundaries. If you enjoy your music, you embark on a journey without limits – precisely which definition, as its name predicts, is defined for the listener.

This is not the only factor in making a name for himself over the years as DJ, Producer and Label Owner - in diverse clubs, well-known labels and top artists on his label. It is also due his special characteristic to - despite his success - stay firmly grounded. Unless he’s making music, then he really takes off.

I dedicate this mix to one of the most famous and mysterious signals ever captured - the Wow signal. 

This live session is another step of my exploration into genuinely electronic sound. Not limited to any specific sub-genre, this is a vision of groove as it stands today. Hope that I've made some input to the gorgeous tracks gathered for this compilation.

We were the nu-underground. Back in the 1900s we ate the bourgeoisie, and smelled good while we pissed Pop. We burnt red carpets, and swung naked from chandeliers. We had the Ace of Spades always up our sleeves. We never checked our coats, left the candles burning, and always checked out late. And now, we are back from the future.
 
Reborn in the urban dark side of Beirut, in the deep end of Hamra, we are the all-dancing and all-punching social-faux-pas of this city’s nightscape. We’ve wiped the blood off the dance floor with a vodka-soaked vintage velvet cloth. We’ve polished the rusted bronze, dimmed down the lights, and summoned a lavish buffet of world-class acts to lay down the soundtrack of the nights to come. And now, our lair is hungry for thirsty night crawlers.
