First up Adam Collins & Lale deliver “Beat Far I”. An original cut inspired by dub samples and heavy basslines with sirens and percussions throughout the track. A definite chugger for the dance floor.

Adam Collins and Mister Ali whip up “Neptunes Android” , the second track of the EP showcasing early 00s tech house inspiration with an aggressive repetitive bassline, backed up with sharp percussions and techy blips and blops. A perfect groover for crowd control.

Rounding out the EP we welcome legend Terry Francis and Chklte each providing their own distinct takes of Beat Far I.

We met liou while staying in Athens this summer and he definitely impressed us with his sound and selection. We are super happy to host him and share his talents with you. Apart from being  great DJ/Producer liou is also a genuine human 🩶

The one-hour journey he compiled for us takes us through multiple influences from the 80s, 90s and present. To describe his set is: moody, euphoric, driving but has a solid groove to keep you going through anytime of day/night🌪️🌪️

Resident at @revolt and co-founder of @affix is known for his Liou is renowned for his captivating style and profound connection to music, with a deep appreciation for the underground sounds of the 90s. He has a remarkable ability to unearth forgotten gems from various electronic genres that sets him apart from the rest, injecting unexpected twists and turns into his sets. With his eclectic selections and playful energy, he has become an indispensable figure in Athens' vibrant music scene ⚡️⚡️

The 18th ubiyu Mix Series has landed yet again from Athens, Greece, curated by DJ Gus!

We met Konstantinos while we were staying in Athens earlier this year and had the pleasure of listening to him throughout the city. We are super happy to have him on board as he's a leading force in the Athens underground scene.  

This mix, reflective of his wide-ranging musical influences, showcases Gus's ability to weave intricate rhythms and textures into a cohesive journey. Each track flows effortlessly into the next, maintaining an unbroken momentum that fosters a strong sense of atmosphere and introspection. At the same time, the mix radiates a palpable sense of self-assurance, a quality that's been honed through his years of both performing and producing. For years, Konstantinos (DJ Gus) has been shaping a personal style that defies easy categorization, combining elements from various genres to create a unique listening experience. Despite only a handful of releases on labels like OGE, Equivalence, and Revolt!, his work has already gained recognition and support from some of the most respected figures in the global scene.

This mix series captures the essence of his approach-dynamic, atmospheric, and unyieldingly confident - positioning Gus as a truly exciting voice in the underground music scene.

UBIYU’s 11th digital release brings us the long-awaited Swag Daze EP from UK-based producer Grant Dell. These four tracks, crafted between 2003 and 2006, offer a nostalgic journey through Dell’s signature sound, blending deep grooves with emotive atmospheres.

Two of the tracks, Sarios Groove and Desert Cry, were recorded at Swag Records’ old studio, capturing the raw, organic energy of a bygone era. The remaining tracks were laid down at Dell’s own studio in Croydon, UK, where his distinctive style began to take shape.

A perfect blend of classic and contemporary, Swag Daze EP showcases Grant Dell’s evolution as an artist while paying homage to the past. The 20th edition of the Ubiyu Mix Series comes just in time for SXSW weekend to make that I35 traffic more tolerable and to get yall warmed up for the upcoming parties. This time we have the honor of introducing long time friend, legend and team member: 

@danielallenatx (Denied Music, Ubiyu) – Austin, TX

Akin to the mysterious sea anemone, Daniel Allen’s sensibilities extend from deep underground straight up to the glimmering surface. Since his start in ‘89, he’s had his tentacles in everything —80s, drum & bass, house, techno, and all fusions thereof — giving his DJ sets a riveting, tactile quality and this set is the perfect example of his range and quality. 

Y’all might recognize him as the head troll of the party toll at our events (the door) or as the dapper DJ crushing Austin’s dance floors but Daniel emerged from Houston’s after-hours spots in the 90s. Then a decade later, with an entire record shop at his fingertips while working at Chemistry, a more cultivated Daniel Allen dove into production. For the last twenty years, he’s continued to mix his palette with unwavering meticulousness. Daniel has productions featured on Viva, Ubiyu, Priroslin, Two Geez, and Colour &Pitch. Swimming deep in A&R, DJing, and a flood of remixes, Daniel Allen’s three-decades-deep passion continues to take him and his listeners to new frontiers.

Between steering the helm of misfit record label Denied Music and studio work, Daniel can be found playing tunes in San Diego, New Orleans, Houston and Austin.

The 22nd edition of the ubiyu Mix Series is here and this time we have long time friend and fam @a_dozal 

Dozal has been a house head, DJ, dance floor general, for as long as we’ve known each other (10+ yrs :O), with a deep appreciation for the genre’s roots, drawing inspiration from the golden era of the ’90s. His sets blend elements of acid house, electro, and other subgenres, creating a dynamic and dance floor-driven sound that keeps energy high and feet moving! A dedicated digger, Dozal has a sharp ear for unique and unexpected tracks, often uncovering hidden gems that add depth and surprise to his sets. It’s been a pleasure being friends all these years and to share this set as he launches his new endeavor under @mr.untz.tx

The 23rd edition of the ubiyu Mix Series is here and this month we have the founder of Artistas Desconocidos and Borderline Black Records Barbara Alvarez.  

@barbaraalvarezdj is undoubtedly one of the most recognized artists in Mexico, who stands out for her dedication and passion for music. Originally from Ciudad Juárez, she began her career in 2003 with a residency at the iconic club “X-Friends,” and since then she has evolved as a DJ, producer, promoter, and live performer, exploring, genres such as minimal, electro, house, tech house, and breakbeats. 

This time shes delivered us a beautiful vinyl-only hour that highlights her skill at building subtle, driving, mysterious, banging sets that really embody “going on a journey”. We’ve had the pleasure of listening to her play here in Austin a few years back and again in Mexico City at Fünk Club and are proud to call her a friend. We’ve really enjoyed this set and we’re sharing it with y’all right before the long weekend. So hit play and take the ride and have a great Labor Day weekend!!

The 24th edition of the ubiyu Mix Series is here, and this month we’re excited to welcome Swansea’s own Rumps, co-runner of South Wales–based label Yumyun Records.

@rumps has been carving out a name for himself in the UK underground with a sound rooted in deep, groove-driven music. Based in South Wales, he’s been steadily shaping his identity as a DJ and producer, pushing forward a style we’ve come to really recognize and love — so much so that we’re excited to announce that our next ubiyu release will be by Rumps. The EP is titled Hitting Bridges and will feature 5 tracks which have already earning early support from DJs including DJ Pipe, Thalo Santana and Kearun. 

Until then, here’s an hour that reflects where his sound is headed. It’s one of those sets that captures the vibe of late-night movement and warm, hypnotic energy. We’ve been loving this mix and are stoked to share it with y’all as we roll into December. Hit play, settle in, and enjoy the ride.

[UBU002] Canadian based Pheek and LA-based Kike Mayor collaborate to deliver two original tracks that take you to different realms of the electronic music spectrum.

A1. "No Chance" demonstrates an evocative mood; a hypnotizing pad that evolves and vocals that compliment a stirring, minimal groove.

A2. "11" is backed up with a funky persistent bounce, quirky percussion hits, and a subtle yet catchy melody that keeps your ears hooked.

The originals are remixed by french producer DoubtingThomas adding his "Dub Side of the Mood" interpretation, and Berlin-based Chad Andrew and Just_Me with their retrospective take of "11".
