Moozeic (@moozeic), a project created by Joici Borges and Manuella Wintrich in 2015 from Jaraguá Do Sul, Brazil, returns to the Mexican imprint Kyma Komplex to reveal their latest extended play, titled 'Continuum 6'. The EP features two amazing original mixes and is accompanied by four outstanding remixes by Cometran, Luca Lucena, Forest Louche & Lorran.
 
Moozeic is created with the aim of expressing experiences and knowledge lived by the duo through music. The exceptional introduction to this journey is 'Continuum 6'. The resounding synthesizers and percussion beat create an ancestral atmosphere that begins to elevate us to a higher state of mind, allowing us to connect with the source.
 
Once the connection is made, 'Pandora 9' starts with the mystical, astral synthesizers and organic elements that melt and suck you into the endless tunnel, showing us the story of our life, our memories, our moments. It's our creation that makes each one distinct and irreplaceable. Crafted from unique experiences, it becomes an unparalleled masterpiece.
 
Regarding the remix duties of 'Continuum 6', it starts with Cometran, offering a cut that is more chaotic and energetic, filled with electrifying sounds, a solid arp-bass line, glitchy percussions, and a booming drum. Its hypnotic and frenetic quality continues in the trance state. Next comes Luca Lucena with his version of 'Pandora 9', featuring a resonant synth pad, alarms, punchy kicks, and the eastern vocal. This evokes an atmosphere reminiscent of bygone decades with retro-futuristic and spatial touches, showcasing a versatile sound.
 
The final two remixes, made by Forest Louche & Lorran, are equally remarkable. The first is oriented towards the dancefloor, based on futuristic timbres, immersed in a tropical forest, with clear vocals, reverberating percussions, and blazing synths. Finally, the EP concludes with Lorran’s remix. It's playful and mysterious, resonant and hallucinating, with haunting vocals that feel like they're taking you deep inside.

𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙚 : Leonard Lampion - Half Revolution [Bella Ursa]

Since 2014, Silas Schletterer has been part of the Bordello A Parigi family. Under his Machinegewehr guise, the Rotterdam artist released three show-stopping synth centred records. 2023 sees him put out his fourth, Life. Burbling arpeggios, a signature of his sound, are present for “Sans.” Clever inviting melodies, another feature of Schletterer’s style, mix beautifully with clean percussion and samples for a definite dancefloor favourite. The title work follows. Measured and meditative, “Life” employs a familiar sound palette with very different outcomes. The pulsations, the throb, of Machinegewehr is there, but there is a considered melancholy that brins a bittersweet balance to the piece. Steady kicks and vocal snippets introduce “Pills.” Shifting melodies, piano stabs, driving rhythms and spoken word come together to create a heady brew of sheer pleasure. Vocals are central in the closer. “Neurons” narrates a fantastical story of subdued sci-fi sorrows and wistful yearning, all to a silken synth-pop soundtrack. A welcome return from a multifaceted musician.

Timothée Gainet's @timpoisonpoint project has been wrecking stages, tearing up live shows for several years now with its mix of frantic drum machine rhythms, screaming synths and Gainet's haunting vocals. 'Altered Beats' taken from the new @cursesforever curated compilation 'Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX', is a perfect encapsulation of that sound, urgent, in your face and sure to electrify clubs which thrill to the darker side of club music.

'Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX' is the second compilation of dark electronic club music compiled and curated by Luca Venezia, aka Curses for @eskimorecordings. A decades spanning collection - featuring a mammoth 49 tracks, spread across 3CDs and three 2LPs.

The last premiere of the year (phew!) is for our dear friends of the rising & shining Mexican imprint Kyma Komplex. They wrap their busy year up by delivering a mighty release made with love by Ann Garcia and featuring on the remix duties a super trio of Latino virtuosos: Mverto Futura, Diaz Tech (SXDNS089), and Veltrán (FREEDL050), the label honcho himself.

The woman of the hour, despite her tender age and short time in the production realm, has already amassed a considerable reputation not only because of her well-constructed and creative output but also due to her high-energy attitude during her sets.

For her debut on Klyma, she handed over two ferocious peak-time-thirsty beasts! It was hard to choose between them to close our premiere season, but after some deliberation we finally managed to pick a favourite to review: “Voces” is intense, vibrant, brutal! Its throbbing bassline, laser-like FXs, and vivid vocal hooks, together, result in a… yes, intense, vibrant, and brutal concoction devoted to triggering happy & perennial dance floor memories.
