Rolling into summer of ’21 with a medley of Trance is Dublin-based artist Sharpson, signing Planet Love onto Zone Focus for the label’s eighth release. The four-tracker EP pays homage to the famed Irish festival, mainlining 140bpm energy with hefty drums and euphoric overtones. An ultra-modern sound resonates throughout the project, enabling a diverse listening experience in the process.

The name comes from the Northern Irish dance music festival PlanetLove, which over the years hosted the likes of Tiesto, Paul van Dyke, John Digweed and Gabriel & Dresden. The EP is a homage to the oldschool trance anthems from the likes of the Gatecrasher, In Search of Sunrise and Ministry of Sound albums. It brings those early melodic Trance influences and contextualises them into a contemporary sound.

R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings keep up their stellar output with a new release from Reflex Blue, a new name on the block in Australia. The label have long been one of our go-tos for a solid dose of house, electro, techno and breaks; and this new instalment doesn't disappoint. Chock full of progressive trance-tinged house and cosmic driving earworms, Reflex Blue proves why Australia has become such a great export of these proggy, sub-aquatic sounds in recent years.

Local south-London neighbours Baby Rollén & Ollie Rant team up for a three-tracker that launches the off-shoot, white-label of Slump Recordings! Focussed on club-ready, nostalgic UK sounds with a focus on hardware and analogue gear. The tracks span through influences of breakbeat, UK garage, liquid drum & bass, and beyond.

Following Baby Rollén's 'Love Potion' EP, which drew in club and radio spins across the globe from the likes of Carl Cox, Eris Drew, Paramida, Job Jobse, and many more. The label takes a break from its usual EP release schedule due to heavy pressing plant delays with the club focussed SLUW001, 'Move It' EP. Sampling old dancehall casette tapes over a rave-ready blend of big piano hooks and punchy breaks all made through one session hunched over the MPC.

St. Petersburg trailblazer Maruwa takes a break from remixing Skream and releasing her recent mind-melting EP Steel City Dance Discs, to deliver a stunning remix of the A1 that traverses between phat psychedelic acid and euphoric breakdowns through a peak time weapon that's been doing critical damage through the summer already.

The station was crowded as travellers and lost souls boarded trains for far away places they'd never heard of before. This was strange news, never had they imagined that they might be forced to leave their home. 

The rain had been pouring for several weeks now and as the water began to rise, the signs of life which had gown plentiful in the fields were drowned beneath the flood water. This was all such strange news indeed...

Then there was the sunlight, it beamed down upon them through the storm, illuminating the tiny rain drops as if to make them pearly and iridescent. There was beauty in all of this. However, this was strange news for all. 

D.Tiffany remixes Inner Zone in a splendid fashion for longstanding party starters and friendly faces, Feelings Worldwide. This track is called 'Strange News' - the new version leans heavily into the euphoric, drawing upon poignant elements of Trance and the classic days of progressive House. 

It's a trip.

He never felt more free than being on a dance floor. Arms flailing, feet tapping, hips swaying; it was something that took him out of his body and into another realm. The dance floor could be wherever he wanted it to be, there didn't need to be low lights, a darkened room, or swathes of bodies for him to move, the only necessity was the music - those sweet sonic vibrations were the fuel for his movement. 

Lutruwita-born, Naarm-based producer and DJ Sam Alfred is part of Melbourne's thriving electronic scene. A lover of deep house, jazz-tinged electronics and UK G, Sam feeds these influences into his own music: a nostalgia inducing cocktail of house and techno, which so far has seen him release music for Love Above Records, Spinning Around, Happy Wax and Phenomena Records - the home of his new EP. Speed Racing was written during the pandemic and is the result of Sam experimenting with different sounds and styles which he puts down to the 'pure boredom' that came with being holed up in his bedroom during lockdown.

There was something palpable in the air tonight. A feeling of excitement, euphoria and mystique. This event only rolled round once a year and many waited with baited breath for its arrival. Only those with open hearts and minds would fill the building. This was a space for freedom, to forget the rules and constraints of the outside world. Here you could be yourself. Nothing more, nothing less... 

Berlin-based party Radiant Love are keeping it in the family for their second release. Coming courtesy of close friends Vani-T (who makes up one half of femme party Climax) and Planet Euphorique's D.Tiffany (who provided the remix for their inaugural release from Fio Fa, the pair come together under the guise of Pillow Queen. The title of the EP and today's premiere, Byron's Theme, pays tribute to Radiant Love co-director and resident Byron Yeates, a throbbing trance cut that builds to a euphoric apex with its wavering synths, modulated pan-flute and pitch-shifted voice samples.

PREMIERE: Thalo Santana - Dual Need [HOOVE]

For our fourth release in our Frontline EP series, we continue to raise money for the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust, a charity set up in the wake of Stephen Lawrence’s murder in a racist attack in 1993, that helps disadvantaged young people in the UK succeed in their careers, and works to remove systemic racism and discrimination in employment and the workplace (www.stephenlawrence.org.uk).

For this compilation we explore a variety of more club-ready, after hours tracks, from some seriously exciting artists. From face melting-breaks, ethereal ambient goodness and leftfield bass to italo chug and low-slung house, this EP has music for all hours of the day and night.
