Rocky Marsiano (@rockymarsiano) is the brainchild of Lisbon hip hop veteran D-Mars, the result of his passion for MPC head bobbin' beats, as well as Lusophone classics from Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique, which permeate the streets he grew up on in Lisbon.

"Esse Mambo" samples one of the greatest Angolan recording artists of all times, Bonga, and is a perfect introduction to Rocky Marsiano's playfully hybrid sound. "Both Angola 72 and Angola 74 are classic records from Angola. All the songs on both albums are just great: so much depth and rhythmical vibes"

Marsiano manages to tastefully expand the vibes of this classic record, as he does on the rest of his Meu Kamba project, which comes out online September 23.

This was a fun one! Jeremy Sole & his Musaics band gave me an 8 channel 14 minute mix from the mixing board of a live concert in LA. I went in, got to work & came up with this tropical mash-up! Girma Beyene was one of the arrangers who made the Ethiopian music of the Golden Era different than the music of today. He was a lyricist, a music writer, an arranger, a vocalist, an accomplished pianist and finally a bandleader. To most, if any name comes to mind with the word arranger, it is probably that of Mulatu Astatke. Yet, according to Ethiopiques Series producer Francis Falceto*, in the heyday of vinyl records, Girma Beyene is credited to having arranged close to 65 titles, compared to Mulatu's 40. Girma left a handful of recordings as a vocalist, but it was as an arranger and pianist that he is fondly remembered today.

Agencia Sonora is a new transcontinental project between MC Ruso (ex "Hechos Contra El Decoro") from Madrid actually living in Brooklyn-New York and DJ Makala from Zarautz, Basque Country. At the moment, project has released just one song called “Cumbia Jungla Sonora”, which appeared few years ago on “Global Bass Vol. 3″ compilation (UrbanWorld Records © 2012) and has been recently included on Makala's new album "Global Funk Remixes 2004-2014" (Orrua Diskak © 2015).
