Pat Thomas returns to OTOROKU for his fourth collection of solo piano improvisations, this time recorded in a studio setting at London’s Fish Factory.

Wide soundscapes, nostalgic pads, heavy chords, rich textures and fragile plucked melodies, pull us to the deepest and darkest before bringing us back to the light. That’s the transformation path that Dive want to take us across all tracks. Dive, the album title, as a metaphor about leaving the surface and falling into the deepest emotions, face the unknown and therefor be forced to grow.

After his self-tittled and self-released debut album in 2019, a mixture of ambient, electronic and post rock, on this new album João Pedro Nogueira wanted to take on a new direction and focused only on ambient and electronic.

For the most of the sounds vintage analog synths were used.

Dive, Pt. 2

Ugly Mac Beer presents "Dans tes yeux," third single with its cold wave vibes leading up to his synth-punk album dropping in November. The track features rapper Mynameisleonidas, who was also on the first single "New Area," this time joined by his sister Kara. Her warm voice adds an enchanting and hypnotic dimension to the song. The French sung chorus, unique on the album, gives the track a special touch. On the production side, Ugly Mac Beer draws heavy inspiration from 80s British bands, especially The Cure.

Dear friends,

It has been a long time since we last released a compilation – our previous one was back in 2020. For the 100th release of our label, we felt it was the perfect occasion to celebrate in great company! We invited many musicians who have collaborated with Dronarivm in the past to create joint tracks with an artist of their choice. The result is 24 uniquely diverse tracks that showcase the vast musical spectrum of the genre we generally call "Ambient."

We are proud to present Illuminations III, a compilation created as a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has supported us over the years. This includes musicians, listeners, visual artists, photographers, designers, podcasters, reviewers, and everyone who has helped us grow and move forward.

Illuminations III features over two hours of outstanding music from leading ambient producers, and just like any true gift, it's completely free to download. Of course, if you wish, you can contribute any amount you find appropriate. All proceeds will go toward supporting and further developing our projects.

For those who prefer a physical format, the album is also available as a print-on-demand double CDr.

Ugly Mac Beer fait ses débuts à la fin des années 90, en tant que DJ du Groupe La Formule, aux côtés de Wax Tailor. Au cours des années 2000, souhaitant développer ses propres projets, il entame une carrière solo.

Très vite, il s'impose comme un personnage incontournable de la scène turntablism / scratch music en France, en tant qu'artiste, mais également en tant que producteur indépendant prolifique avec son label Beatsqueeze Records.

Au milieu des années 2000, il commence à collaborer avec le digger/beatmaker Mister Modo. De cette alchimie va naitre une suite de projets jalonnés de nombreuses collaborations internationales avec des grands noms de cette culture comme MF Grimm, Kool Keith, Psycho Les (Beatnuts), Guilty Simpson, Mike Ladd, El Da Sensei, Dj D-Styles…

En 2009, la sortie de l'album Modonut reçoit une belle exposition médiatique et un vrai succès auprès d’un public plus large. Le titre "Not Afraid" (ft Jessica Fitoussi) aux accents soul 70' est largement programmé en radio et permet au duo d’être diffusé internationalement. Le deuxième opus du duo, sobrement intitulée "Modonut 2" sort en 2012 et donne naissance cette fois à un banger hip-hop « Diggin in the Crates » (ft F.Stokes) plébiscité par des DJ’s autant eu Europe qu’en Amérique du Nord

De plus en plus demandé du côté du monde de la publicité et du cinéma pour de la synchronisation à l’image, Ugly Mac Beer se découvre une passion pour l’audiovisuel. Inspiré depuis toujours par la télévision, la pop culture, le cinéma et la musique au sens large, il trouve sa place aujourd’hui comme compositeur à plein temps de musique à l’image.
