Two Hospital Records titans collide! Metrik & Grafix join forces for a highly anticipated collaboration after the success of their hugely popular track ‘Parallel’, released on Metrik’s third studio album ‘Ex Machina’. The pair got to work in Devon Analogue Studios combining their production precision and unmatchable energy to deliver an exhilarating drum & bass powerhouse anthem. With over 23 years combined of supplying huge dancefloor classics like ‘Tension’, ‘Fatso’, ‘Radiance’ and more, you can be sure that the alliance of Metrik & Grafix elevate their sound into unchartered sonic territory.

Otherworldly synth riffs carve out a pathway for Metrik’s own vocals to trailblaze through, whilst crisp snare hits and electrifying atmospheres crescendo into an invigorating state of Overdrive. Resonant bass wobbles and thunderous drum hits are the clear product of Metrik & Grafix’s creative collaboration. The duo’s rock and hip-hop influences become ever more apparent in the breakdown as halftime breaks and nostalgia-fuelled guitars, played in by Grafix, step into the forefront. Drum & bass doesn’t get more weighty than this.

The widely-acclaimed debut collaboration from Metrik & Grafix, ‘Parallel’ gets the VIP treatment on the B-side as the drum & bass behemoths revisit the future classic. The pair have crafted an ever-more immersive introduction teasing the original melodies, before exploding into pure 174BPM energy.

The coming together of Metrik & Grafix is a prospect that has sent shockwaves throughout the drum & bass community. The pair hosted their solo livestream series throughout lockdown, with Metrik’s nominated for the 2021 AIM Awards ‘Best Live [Streamed] Act’. Plus Metrik & Grafix are no stranger to having their selections blasted out on the airwaves with combined support from radio tastemakers like Annie Mac, Danny Howard, MistaJam, Rene LaVice and Charlie Tee and dance music icons such as Andy C, Sub Focus, DJ Marky and Wilkinson, this exciting new duo project has stepped the game up in the world of dancefloor drum & bass. ‘Overdrive’ & ‘Parallel (VIP)’ will be available on an extremely limited vinyl run which will be available exclusively on The Hospital Shop.

Metrik’s highly anticipated second album ‘LIFE/THRILLS’ released on Hospital Records is an exhilarating and flawlessly executed evolution of his signature sound. Under the banner of drum & bass it draws on his love for film soundtracks, synthwave, neo-soul and the Japanese pop sub-genre, Shibuya-kei and includes collaborations with Elisabeth Troy, NAMGAWD, Roméo Testa, Ragga Twins, Rothwell and Reija Lee.

‘Electric Echo’, a collaboration with Fightstar’s Dan Haigh and Alex Westaway’s synthwave side project Gunship, encapsulates the ethos of the album merging the unfamiliar with D&B sensibilities to create a fresh and exciting new sound. We also welcome the return of Elisabeth Troy in 'Chasing Sunrise' and Reija Lee in 'Cadence' making for two powerful vocal highlights on the record. For those of a purist nature, fear not; Metrik’s sophomore album is one hundred percent drum & bass and he hasn’t forgotten about the dancefloor. Bangers like 'Western Jam', 'Fatso' and 'Destination Earth' make up a serious proportion of the album’s generous fifteen tracks and reinforce his status as one of the heaviest producers on the block.

Over the past year Metrik has travelled the world representing drum & bass at major festivals of all denominations; from Glastonbury and Global Gathering to Outlook and EDC Las Vegas. All the while crafting remixes for the likes of DJ Fresh, Ellie Goulding, Gorgon City and Martin Garrix, and collaborating with fellow D&B superstars TC and Netsky. Fans of his UK Dance Chart Top 20 debut 'Universal Language' will find plenty to love here however its Metrik’s devotion to creating a fresh and thrilling strain of drum & bass that stands to bring in a new audience and earmark 'LIFE/THRILLS' for instant classic status.

Continuing to redefine and reinvigorate the sound of trance and progressive music, Grum finally pulls back the curtain on ‘Deep State’, his brand new artist album out now on Anjunabeats.

Reflecting the unsettling times we live in, ‘Deep State’ has moments of light and dark. It’s a showcase of Grum’s ability to craft pitch-black progressive and immersive vocal pop. The 10-track album is a refined take on the current state of progressive trance.

With tinges of classic trance and 90’s rave culture across the record, Grum embraces vintage dance floor ideas in a thoroughly modern way. Acid-edged summer hit ‘Stay’ introduces Natalie Shay to the dance music world, also lending her voice to the anthemic LP closer ‘Afterglow’. ‘Running’ sees Grum partner with the soulful voice of London’s Jinadu, while Dom Youdan muses on the monotony of modern life with ‘Tomorrow’. ‘Home’, featuring Nicole Dash Jones, provides a deeper moment the mix, before the intensity of ‘Genesis’ and ‘Altered State’ take over.
