With Zane Lowe pedestalling the first glimpse into Bensley’s diverse soundscape, ‘Fandango’ was a precursor for this forthcoming debut. ‘Next Generation’ is a bold move; with drum & bass being a genre which has certainly stood the test of time, newcomers have incredibly big shoes to fill. However, Bensley incorporates an innovative and incredibly intricate set of production skills to hold a title of his own.

But what can you expect from an artist who was signed after sending a single demo to revered label head Andy C. That’s despite having no previous releases or having any other music available to stream online. He was somewhat of a mystery.
‘Fandango’ was that track. And it was premiered as a world exclusive on leading tastemaker Radio1, which followed with support from the likes of Mistajam on 1xtra, as well as DJs on both Kiss and XFM.

Already demonstrating his widespread appeal with just one track, his air of mystery is now about to be broken. He’s definitely an anomaly; being only nineteen and having impressed so many people.

‘Next Generation’ is a 10-track journey through an impressively diverse soundscape. Whether it’s half-time breakdowns or the incorporation if cross genre-pollination it shows an astounding ability which will not go unrecognised.
From the opening bars of ‘Wildfire’, to the softly spoken pads and atmospheric note arpeggios of ‘Rain Dance’, then wrapped up by aptly named closing track ‘Aftermath’, there’s no denying Bensley’s masterful artistry.

Title-track ‘Next Generation’ leads you by the hand with snippets of humanistic sample, flowing in and out of its construct. It’s built upon by striking note progressions, a relaying of patterns which chop and change the mix. Carefully placed subs add impact, with emphasis given on each break, carrying the track forward down a steep drop with each slab of bass.

Drawing together a dizzying and fresh array of new sounds, this album indicates why Bensley is a forerunner within the new generation of music comers. Its representative of the fast paced technological setting of music production he grew up around; it also proves that Bensley is able to tap into dimensions which are often unheard of in other bodies of work.

A purveyor of the spectrum’s deeper end, re-known for an ever quality output, we’re pleased to present the 2nd album from Zero T, entitled ‘Golden Section’, coming on Dispatch this Autumn.

Taking its name from a classical mathematic formula (illustrated on the album’s artwork), Zero T explores the science and maths behind beauty; the factors and stimuli that govern our perception of balance, harmony and beauty in nature, art, architecture and composition.

Exploring intrinsic reactions to music and how discerning elements can balance against one another, Zero T ventures into the senses across the album; from the mesmerising nostalgia of ‘Macushla’ and dubbed out roller ‘Everything Must Change’, to dancefloor poised punishers ‘Good For Nothing’ and ‘Wolf Tone’.

Comprised of 13 original tracks, plus two additional bonus tracks, the digital album predominantly features solo jaunts, such as the blissful title track ‘Golden Section‘ and opened by the elegantly arranged ‘Late Nite Movies’, however a few special guests also join the picture, for some more technically focused collaborations.

Linking up with Fierce on the unrelenting, yet, mischievously sampled ‘Cross It’, Zero T also joins fellow Dubliner Beta 2, with two industrial workouts, including harsh stomper, yet groove driven ‘Cairo’.

Utilizing the technical apparatus to investigate a long adopted term, Zero T carefully maps out the indices to deliver a classic, all-encompassing long player that evokes the senses in numerous ways.

Prague’s answer to drum & bass - Let It Roll open air festival hits its ninth year this July and we’re so excited to be taking over with not one but two stages! The Hospital and Med School family will be flying over, and in celebration we’ve put together an epic four track EP to get us ready!

He’s only just finished up his amazing sixth studio album ‘Electric Sun’ yet Logistics is already back with more. ‘Destination’ is a squelching bass monster that shows off a different side of our liquid king. Ahead of his debut album, Krakota has given a VIP treatment to his garage inspired tune from late last year, ‘In The Area’ ft Lifford. He’s spiced up the drums and stripped back the vocals for a deeper, sleeker Krakota style.

Med School members Whiney and Anile have also served up some tasty numbers. ‘They Will Come’ ft Ed Tullet matches mellow vocals with hissing hi-hats and bottomless pits of bass. Anile’s warehouse-esque style rounds up the EP with crisp, deep echoes, serious drums and swirling sub shocks.

Memtrix is a name that has quickly risen to the forefront of drum & bass, impressing fans around the world with his abilities from such a young age. One of the few artists who boasts being able to record every single instrument used in his tracks, there is no doubting that Memtrix’s success is only just beginning, and Viper are proud to be releasing his next single, ‘Of The Ice / Blood Run’.

‘Of The Ice’ offers an eerie yet elegant opening, pairing original vocals with a certain ghostly charm that has become something of a trademark for the producer. Memtrix’s vocals cast a spell that draws the listener in to the many layers of the production, where unique sound design offers something completely new to drum & bass. Hauntingly beautiful yet potent, ‘Of The Ice’ is a charismatic track from start to finish.

‘Blood Run’, the other side of the single, delivers high energy from the start while still creating a certain sinister, almost supernatural atmosphere. Piercing synths are used in a way we’ve never heard before for a sound that is absolutely spine-tingling; Memtrix’s masterful sound design really shines through and is a strong reminder of his extraordinary abilities.

Both tracks speak volumes to Memtrix’s skills as a producer, creating two completely different soundscapes that prove he is a worthy and welcome addition to Viper’s summer catalogue.
