Tay Iwar, Nigeria’s hidden gem, presents his newest single release with “1997” —a percussion-packed track with mood-driven melodies. The single explores the story of romance in various forms—playfully flirting, needing your space, and desires both good and bad. 

Raised in Lagos and Abuja, Tay began creating music at 14. Since then, the writing hasn’t stopped and he’s honed in on crafting songs that effortlessly blend together a timeless R&B sound with Afrobeat influences. Backed behind a variety of rhythmic percussion, Tay takes us on a journey through his memories of past lovers, exercising his vocals to put his emotions into every harmony.

"1997" is a glimpse of what’s to come from his debut album being released in November on Soulection.

Ukweli is a music producer & visual artist from Nairobi, Kenya. He draws influence from a wide palette of music he was exposed to growing up from R&B, Taarab, Highlife, and Afrobeats among many other genres.

Ukweli was selected for the 2023 Youtube Black Voices program alongside some of the greatest talents at the forefront of music from all over the world including Asake, Juls, Coco Jones etc . 

Ukweli was named by Apple Music's "Africa Now" Radio as one of the artists to watch in 2023 .
Ukweli released his collaborative EP entitled "Maybe"  with Xenia Manasseh which was a critical and commercial success. The EP had press coverage from MTV, Native Mag, Afrocritik, and more. Apple Music featured the EP as the release of the month and charted on the Apple charts in multiple countries. 
The lead single has amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify in less than 6 months.
He has worked with an eclectic array of artists from all over the world namely Willow Smith (America) , Ami Faku (South Africa) , Xenia Manasseh (Kenya) , Silvana Imam (Sweden) , Frank Yamma ( Australia) among many others. 
Ukweli has performed as a DJ at festivals from - Sweden to Uganda, South Africa & Reunion islands.
