Please note: this conversation starts about 10 minutes in -- by this point my wife and I are both completely flustered by the oppressiveness of the rep.

So! Last week my wife called to disconnect our service with Comcast after we switched to another provider (Astound). We were transferred to cancellations (aka "customer retention").

The representative (name redacted) continued aggressively repeating his questions, despite the answers given, to the point where my wife became so visibly upset she handed me the phone. Overhearing the conversation, I knew this would not be very fun.

What I did not know is how oppressive this conversation would be. Within just a few minutes the representative had gotten so condescending and unhelpful I felt compelled to record the speakerphone conversation on my other phone.

This recording picks up roughly 10 minutes into the call, whereby she and I have already played along and given a myriad of reasons and explanations as to why we are canceling (which is why I simply stopped answering the rep's repeated question -- it was clear the only sufficient answer was "Okay, please don't disconnect our service after all.").

Please forgive the echoing and ratcheting sound, I was screwing together some speaker wires in an empty living room!

a wogglebug modulates some phonogene parameters and its burst output feeds into the atlantis filters for those brief stutters of modulation.

About Revy: 
Revy is based out of Pittsburgh, PA, USA, and has worked with Wondermachine before on a remix for Jarz and 
an episode of the Wondercast. He is also known for founding the netlabel Bleepsequence, which is becoming 
notorious for its growing library of quality experimental techno at no cost, along with releasing on 
numerous labels such as Make Mistakes, Kalimari Musique, and several others. Other rejecnt projects include 
being half of the deep techno duo Untethered, and releasing experimental video game music remixes under the 
alias Bitlegs.

Working on opposite sides of the landmass we call Canada, Vancouver/Montreal duo Potatohead People (producers Nick Wisdom & AstroLogical) have been making waves for quite some time with their signature jazzy boom-bap meets boogie inside the bassbin vibes. Called a “formidable tandem” by OkayPlayer, their sounds have been championed early on by the likes of Kaytranada, Soulection, Nightmares on Wax, Pomo, Exmag, Big Boi, and Phife Dawg. After a few early releases on Vancouver based netlabel Jellyfish Recordings, Brooklyn’s Bastard Jazz reissued their 2012 landmark Kosmichemusik EP and pressed a 7” which quickly became a collector’s item. The association landed their song “Back To My Sh*t” (featuring Frank Nitty of Frank’n’Dank) on a Powerade produced LeBron James documentary and Nick and Astro began working on a debut LP for Bastard Jazz, presented here.

Big Luxury draws from influences disparate as classic jazz, prog rock, disco, 90’s hip-hop, DJ Shadow-Era downtempo beats, alongside modern influences like the Brainfeeder crew and new electronic movements coming out of Nick Wisdom’s adopted hometown of Montreal.  What’s resulted is a finely honed, extra buttery album that effortly glides between tempos, but never loses the mood.  The album also features a whole host of guest vocalists -  J Dilla’s younger brother Illa J, legendary Canadian MC Moka Only, New Zealand’s Sorceress, and Amalia all provide contributions to the sounds within.  The album will set the tone for the duo’s big moves this year, including forthcoming collaborations with Illa J and Pomo as well as tour dates in North America and beyond. 

Big Luxury is a velvety ride through vibes and a magnificent debut for these talented young Canadians.

Well, I recently took a job as an 'on-air personality' with a local radio station, meaning I am officially a professional disc jockey. I am on the air 25 hrs a week, m-f, and doing lots of smash audio production work. I am really enjoying it, but now and again I get a little squirrelly. This is how I maintain my sanity, or insanity as the case might be, on the side. At the moment I don't have as much space for big instrumental productions, but here is a taste of my voice (now, that sounds weird) which has been patiently waiting in the wings most of my soundcloud time. These very little productions I can probably keep generating pretty consistent like. Hope you enjoy!

R,T,Ê Üçlüsü’nün temelleri 1970 yılında Fatih’teki İstanbul İmam Hatip Lisesi öğrencilerinin Milliyet Liselerarası Müzik Yarışması’na katılma girişimleriyle atıldı. İlk kurulan kadroda Recep Tokatlı (vokal, solo gitar), Hüseyin Alacadağ (ritim gitar), Tayyip Vezircioğlu (bas gitar) ve Erdoğan Kaplan (davul) bulunmaktaydı. Recep Tokatlı grubun bu dönemki müzik çizgisini “Arabesk-Anadolu Pop” olarak adlandırıyordu. İstanbul İmam Hatip Lisesi adıyla Milliyet Liselerarası Müzik Yarışması için “Hayber Kalesi” ve “Mekke Twist” isimli iki şarkı hazırlayan grup ön elemeleri geçemedi. 1971 yılına gelindiğinde Hüseyin Alacadağ’ın lise tahsilini bitirmesi ve üniversite eğitimi için Mısır’a gitmesi üzerine topluluk tarz değişikliğine gitti. Üç kişi kalan ekip elektro gitar yerine o dönem müzik dünyamızda yeni bir enstrüman olan elektro bağlamayı kullanmaya başladı. Yeni arayışlar içinde olan topluluk kısa bir dönem Hüseyin Alacadağ’ın yerine Şehmuz Ballı ile çalışmalar yaptı. Böylelikle Recep Tokatlı solo elektro bağlamada, Şehmuz Ballı ritim elektro bağlamada ter döküyordu. 1973 yılında ikinci kez Milliyet Liselerarası Müzik Yarışması’na katılan İstanbul İmam Hatip Lisesi elemeleri geçse de Ankara’da yapılacak olan finalleri boykot etme kararı alıp yarışmadan çekildi. Boykot kararında CHP’nin seçim zaferi ve Şehmuz Ballı ile yaşanmakta olan müzikal anlaşmazlıklar olduğu çok açıktı. Şubat 1974’te Şehmuz Ballı ile yollarını ayıran grup nihai şeklini aldı. Fatih çevresinde çeşitli konserler veren topluluk zaman içerisinde ilginç sahne şovlarıyla çevre semtlerde de boy göstermeye başladı. Bilinen tek kırkbeşlikleri olan “Çılgın Proje” Misvak Plak etiketiyle Kasım 1975’te dinleyici ile buluştu. Çok az sayıda basılan plağın A yüzünde “İnsan Bu Alemde Hayal Ettiği Kadar Yaşar”, B yüzünde ise “Ananı Da Al Git” adlı eserleri bulunmaktadır. Plak sonrası bir süre daha müzik yapmaya devam eden R,T,Ê Üçlüsü konserlerinde yaşanan olaylar ve Türkiye’deki genel siyasi gidişat nedeniyle 1977 baharında dağılma kararı aldı.
