Ulrich Langenbach is a visual artist and improvisational musician whose work is characterised by a continuous investigation of unintentional aesthetics and interdisciplinary approaches. His artistic practice includes installations, texts and performances, which invite the viewer into an immediate and impartial confrontation with space, material and sound.

At the centre of his visual art are extensive installations that challenge your perception with minimalist forms, materials and structures.

His text works combine literary precision with visual openness and often pose questions around the meaning and function of language.

As an improvisational musician, Langenbach is devoted to non-idiomatic music, a way of playing that moves beyond established styles and focuses on the moment of sound occurring. His performances emerge in the space between intention-free experimentation and intuitive expression, and lead to unique soundscapes that deliberately leave behind traditional genre boundaries.

His multi-award-winning work, which has been shown in numerous international galleries and museums, throws new light on the disciplines of art and music and offers pioneering impulses. It stands for the power of having no intention and for liberation from conventional expectations. It invites you to experience space, sound and text in a new dimension.
