Scenemon [for Joy-inn's Scenemon game], 2012

I release "Introsong" for the first time. I did it in 1990, just before the Summer of 1990 where I was invited to do official songs for Explora III, a game edited by a French company. Although it is different, "Introsong" was inspired by a well known game, "Giana Sister".

In 1991, I did this cover of what is to me one of the greatest futurist tunes: "The Art of Sampling" from the "one and only one 1990's album of Robotiko Rejekto, "The Cyber Space", produced by RaHen together with Kurt Ader (using the synonym Ramona). "Great" tune means that when one speaks about computer generated music, futurist music, all these Robots things, I can hardly see a music so representative as this one. But, to do it with four channel was a big challenge. I regret that the sound is not more punchy. But just turn the volume up, add some loudness, or simply listen to this tracked work done by the young trackerboy I was in the 1990's :p.

Some people discover the song through The Last of Us series which, to be honnest, I've never seen. However it is an opportunity to publish this tune I did in 1990 with Soundtracker on Amiga. I used two sample banks (floppy disks at the time) : ST-01 and ST-05. This is a boring cover, unless you're willing to sing on it, and in case you're an awful singer like me, there is an instrument playing Gahans's vocal. This is very old fashion but something we did in the past, replacing the vocal with some instrument.

À propos de ce son : le fruit d'un recyclage musical. Je m'explique : je ne fais plus de synthé depuis des lustres, car plus trop de place, et de temps pour pianoter. J'utilise le laptop du bureau, je prends mes sons pas finis (celui-ci est de 2015), je pioche des samples un peu partout (Trap Piano Killaz samples bank @futureloops cette fois-ci pour les mélodies + superbe voix de Cecilia) et je les mélange dans Audacity, comme un peintre impressionniste. Mon DAW préféré depuis ce temps. Cet environnement minimal est peu consommateur d'énergie.

Ranked 6/9, not so bad !!!
I started this track with as aim to submit it to atparty. Regarding the space'ish mood, I had a long sample of Nasa crew having a disussion with Alan Shepard which I did not know how to use until I heard about the US atparty demo party. I sampled the parts relevant for the music I had in mind. This track is less melodic than those I did in the past, perhaps a natural response to my intention to apply glitch effects using Glitch VST and following an IDM style a la kaneel. Some sceners but kaneel (:D) to whom I made listen earlier versions disliked it a bit, while others adding that this is a bit not very a la mode. I took pleasure in making this track which is all what matters.

At the end of the 1980s, a few pioneers paved the way for Amiga tracked musics. Greetz to 'em and to Ramon B5^DESiRE for giving me the opportunity to contribute to Chip Chop #17. Due greetings also go to xoofx for his insights on .mod sample rates, bexxx & Hepterida who give a breath of life to FRQ. Do you like anagrams? By removing "e," the anagram of Machineras is ... The tune uses samples from several sources: Audacity tone generator, Loopmasters' Coin-op Chiptune, st-65 `chipsyn' and a sample from `Part-3-snd.mod' by Steel Hertz.

This song is also dedicated to my dad who passed away in 2009. There is a bit of a melody he used to sing in it.

Machineras 💾.mod [ChipChop 17, DESiRE | @Revision], 2024

Original song is from French band Bérurier Noir. The group Bérurier Noir becomes the spokesperson for a part of the youth, notably with a variant of the title "Porcherie" whose chanted refrain becomes famous: "The National Front pisses the youth off!". "Bérurier Noir" is a French punk band, and "Porcherie" is one of their songs. The phrase "La jeunesse emmerde le Front national" is a strong statement expressing the youth's frustration with the National Front, a political party which has just won the European election in 2024 in France. National Rally pisses the Youth off - Bérurier Noir, 1989

I wanted to make this track quickly after the death of Steve Strange in February 2015. I sent the former version to Morusque who offered a gift to me: he recorded the lyrics. I wanted to do an hybrid cover of Visage's song, overall Drum & Bass with a dubstep moment and the well known "Fade to grey" bass. The mix could have been better, it lacks breath. On the other hand it has the tension I wanted in the song.

Taxi Girl `ChercheZ le garçon' [ulrick & Morusque glitch remix], 2014

You know what disco sounds like. But, have you already heard a cricket in a disco music? More particularly when this music is a bit demoscene oriented? There you are! In this music, you'll hear one synthetic sound of cricket (actually, a "grillon" as one says in French). This sound was made by Morusque by bending circuits. One vocoded vocal sample is from the Computer Music's "24bit Digital Lover Samples" pack.

This is our second collaboration. The previous one was "Mezon" that is available on my page too.

The part where Yseult sings in the range of three octaves moved me so much that I decided to make a cover. The dnb feel was in my mind early. The song has 128 BPM, a few percussion loops have 140 bpm, so I used the beatsync function in Renoise's Sampler. A few clics can be heard. Instead of removing them, which was worst, I added some noise.

Amiga Soundtracker modules since 1989, and more recent ziks made with Renoise, VSTi + samples, Audacity, OpenMPT, Starkos. Most tracks up to 1994 were composed as I was member of IRIS demoscene group. A few tracks for video game "Explora III" on Amiga and Atari ST in 1990, and a couple of tracks for game "scenemon" for Android in 2012. Since 2007, I composed tracks for FRequency demoscene group (see pouet.net), more recently with MoonShine and other tracks for a larger audience.
