Original "Ethos" EP was recorded in 2019 and released by SYKOT label.

The main theme of above was the attempt to sonically describe the peak of post-modern capitalistic social and spiritual warfare of the current era.

As per original release description:

"In the modern world, the social and cultural ethos has taken the ambiguities in life to another level. The more one experiences and learns of it, the less one feels fundamental ethics and it’s harder to identify or justify any incontestable moral laws. The figure of human being, ripped from its own identity, which was once driven by simple and basic will, becomes rather a silhouette than a true being – with no solid essence inside the monochromatic shape. To avoid an inevitable inner conflict, one disguises itself as an entity which is fully and paradoxically immersed into this source of conflict – the ethos of new world. However, if there is no true affinity towards it - besides this basic defense mechanism - the inner conflict becomes even more unbearable. As a result, the personality falls into total atrophy and the final step of this is obviously a catastrophe.
Recorded in oblivion of 2019."

The year 2020 changed everything for many of us and thrown ourselves back into own arms and forced to isolate. Within this enforcement there are both new chances and old threats as well. Depending on how strong and determined we are, it is possible either to heal or collapse.

Musically the source material was an experiment towards using deep-techno producing techniques while creating shinier and sparkling themes, more adhering to early 2000s IDM pieces than Ulro's dubby signature sound. "Ethos In Dub And Drone" is a reversion of this process. Originals were resampled in slow motion, reworked, rearranged and reinterpreted in digital dub-inspired and droning directions .

"Ethos In Dub And Drone" is to meditate on where 2020 has taken us.

Ulro is a conceptual, audio-visual project most of all focused on dubtechno, techdub and deep ambient/drone territories. Immersed in foggy emotions and aesthetics of selective remembering. Originates from Rzeszów and currently based in Warsaw, Poland.
