Remember When opens up with snapping drums and flashy synths that are bright and ravey. It's a party starter with class and the sort of melodies that lodge deep in the brain. Forgotten is a turbocharged cut with more slapping drums and a driving bassline. Elements of trance colour the airwaves to get hands skyward, then last of all is Lost Consequence, a lush cut doused in rippling chord sequences and with deep but dynamic drums down low.

This is a stylish but impactful house from this always dynamite label.'

Chambray’s sophomore record is set to launch in mid-February via Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic outpost. Work That, the Berlin-based producer’s follow-up to the Rub EP, stays true to the label’s signature style of staccato functionality. Rigid beats, lightning claps, and catchy vocal blips abound throughout the four-track on the digital-only release, as do flashes of ghetto house’s dogged vocals and dusty hi-hats. Chambray strikes a balance between rigorous, inflexible workouts and jewel-bright melodic elements with dreamy synth breakdowns on the title track and a clipped piano part on "Anew.“

Gudu Records is proud to present the label’s first ever album, from someone who’s been part of the family since the start: Brain de Palma.

Born in Ukraine, settling as a child in Turin and spending three years in Egypt before settling in his current home of Berlin, Alexei Versino has one hell of a story.

Musically, he’s been around for a decade now, releasing his previous music (solo as Panama Keys, and also as one half of the duo Stump Valley) on labels like Dekmantel, Soul Clap and Off Minor, before settling on Gudu with his Brain de Palma alias. But personally, his relationship to music goes much deeper: as a young child growing up in the former Soviet Union, a lot of European music was banned, so he relied on his well-travelled uncle to bring him back smuggled cassettes of Italo Disco, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Erasure and early DJ mixes – getting an illicit musical education behind closed doors as a child.

Comprising eleven tracks made across the past year, Versino describes Rhythmption as “my redemption through rhythm”, and a tribute to “seeing people enjoying themselves on the dancefloor, that feeling of unity where people become one thing, regardless of their life path or social status.” Opening with the gorgeous ‘Thandolwami’ (featuring South African vocalist Sfiso Atomza), Rhythmption charts a path through sun-drenched Balearic house, stuttering drum work-outs, Italo-inspired synth romps, trancey house and even a touching tribute to his former home of Egypt, taking in every aspect of Versino’s journey to date. After all, it’s not all about the destination, it’s also the sights you see along the way.

Deetron’s debut EP for Running Back is an amalgam of some of the key virtues of both parties involved:  the evocative and glorious power of the early days of rave (see cover art for further reference), emotional house, melodious techno, a beatless beauty and a firmly polished dance floor. Over the years, the Swiss producer has proven that his skill set and philosophy (underpinned by his mastery of the DJ trade) is perfect for such a mixture. 
The EPs title track is the result of an extensive research in quiet storm soul records and their influence on traditional house music. „T-Symmetry“ and „TXT“ make extensive use of Roland’s classic JX-8P synthesizer with very different outcomes and the certainty that the idea trumps the tools. Euphoric UK breakbeat pianos and Detroit techno soul can be made with the same mind and machine as well as in any time or place. A record full of fun, finesse and fantasy. Deetron, we salute you!

One of the most requested tracks from our BIS mix of unreleased tracks, we feel it apt to get this one mastered up and give it away!

Produced early last year, this version was actually a rough demo. We went on to change the track considerably, evolving it into what became $tripper. However with some space we came back to it and actually loved it's raw feel. This led us to test her out on our BIS mix - And here she is! 

NY/UKG crossover feel... fun 'n' bumpin', hope you like it!
