The second of a triplet on Fine Grains for the Surrey-based producer, Herman. Four ruminating low-end constructions with the heads down crew always in mind. With clubs starting to re-open, the ‘Narcissus EP’ lands at the perfect moment. ‘Sol’ takes on a heady mix of tribal drums, haunting distorted vocal snippets and teasing breakbeats. And this is the essence of the ‘Narcissus EP’, as we go further down the rabbit hole into Herman’s world of deep myoclonus percussion.

Herman’s tale is furthered with remixes by two exciting emergent production talents - Holloway from the UK and Zohar in the Netherlands. The emphasis remains on drums, slipping into some classic d’n’b flavour with Holloway and a powerful modern breakbeat re-shake from Zohar (her first ever remix). ‘Narcissus’ is a call to arms for a return to those dark and sweaty nights we once shared with strangers on dance floors and dingy basements across the globe. Grrlsss’ member and Toulouse-based artist 130E0A is passionate about musical identities that easily jump over aesthetic borders. Mixing bass music, hard dance, hip-hop, and jungle, as well as being influenced by ambient and trip-hop culture, 130E0A keeps in mind two essential aspects of every festive and musical experience : hip moves and spiritual permanence. Their productions, created in the shadows of their home, perfectly fit with their wild DJ sets, in which deconstructed rhythms and massive bass mingle with more poetic strands of dream and light.

Fever AM presents Xen Chron ( @cleamy ) with his label debut “Deleted Vapor”. Based in Weymouth, Massachusetts, Xen Chron is the most recent alias from a producer active at varying levels of obscurity for over 20 years.

This EP consists of five tracks of forward thinking, psychedelic, broken techno that lean into “sci-fi sounds & atonalities, a sense of fun, & head nod factor” in his own words. At a time where clubs and dancefloors are almost completely absent worldwide, this EP captures current moods and feelings while insisting for us to keep moving.
