!!!DOES NOT REPRESENT CONTENT & QUALITY OF FINAL PRODUCT!!! For the first time I'm going to be posting audio files charting the progress of a track. This is the guide vocal section for the single Electronic Death, based on some of the sounds from Electronic Death Metal & Electronic Death Resistanz, which will feature as an additional track. This loop is typical of the type I would make for a female singer to learn the melody & lyrics, and the backing is deliberately unobstrusive & bland and I've recorded my own guide vocal and autotuned it as I can't sing. The final backing will be extreme hardcore, going from 70-140-280bpm and dropping down to synth & strings at around 2m, when the female vox will kick in, then cut up and effected as the extreme beats break back in. We should be recording vox late Aug/early Sept, probably in Nottingham.

Hardcore Motherfucker (live)

Short version of the 1995 track from the album Psychodrama, also released as a single the following year. This version was made in 2012 to play live and is short with a single dark mood to bridge accross atmospheres. Expanded from a technical demo made in 2009, this is one of the most complex Ultraviolence arrangements, weighing in at a CPU throttling 47 stereo tracks I recently compacted them into stems for the use of students during my occaisional teaching work...please ask if you'd like to see them here.

I, Destuctor Redux (2012)

Two clips from the b-side of my first single You'll Never Sleep Tonight. The first is the original version, recorded at Square Dance studio in Nottingham in 1991 as part of £300 per day session. I also had around £1000 worth of bulky eqipment at home to make very basic parts to take to the studio.
The second clip (at 0m53s) was made in 2013 on Nanostudio, a £10.99 app running on my iPhone 3 The iPhone wass free as part of a £13.50 a month contract with O2 and runs at 10% CPU load for this track, made using tweaked presets and effects from the app - only the raw vocals were imported.
The demonstration is part of my occasional guest lecture work and is to demonstrate how technology has moved on to the practical benefit of the musician. And whilst I wouldn't suggest that anyone should busy themselves recreating 1990s dance music, it is possible to learn the basics of modern music production with apps such as Nanostudio, and it is possible to make world class cutting edge music stepping up to a domestic laptop a couple of hundred pounds worth of music software, whereas my 90s albums were made with a roomful of equipment costing £5000-£10000.
