Back in 2020, our sister label Foliage Records dropped the stunning “Or Stay Alive”  by Daniel Rateuke and Ursula Rucker. Now in 2025, Papa Records is thrilled to present a fresh remix from Mike Newman, aka N.W.N.

German producer Daniel Rateuke is known for his deep, tribal Afro house sound, combining rhythmic percussion and atmospheric melodies. He's released on top labels like Enormous Tunes and MoBlack, earning acclaim for his organic grooves.

Philadelphia’s Ursula Rucker is a powerhouse spoken word artist, blending hip-hop, jazz, and soul to tackle themes of love, race, and justice. She's worked with The Roots, 4hero, and Louie Vega, leaving a lasting mark on music and poetry.

Hungarian producer Mike Newman (N.W.N.) is a tech house heavyweight, with releases on Toolroom, Ministry of Sound, and Defected. His dynamic sound, mixing nu-disco, deep house, and big room vibes, has gained support from Mark Knight and Roger Sanchez.

Cody Currie & Kapote together in the studio! Delivering a 4 track EP that connects proto-disco, neo soul, Chicago house beats and jazz funk in a very spontaneous, super catchy way.
Cody, the London multi-talent musician, and Kapote, the Berlin-based creative head of Toy Tonics have a lot in common. Both come from studying jazz, knowing different instruments, having played in bands, and at the same time being DJs with a huge passion and the skill to rock thousands of people every weekend at the Toy Tonics Jams with a wild mix of different music. They have what we call THE VIBE. Soulful, catchy, intense. When they play records at a party and when they work on tracks. Both play keyboards, bass, guitar, and drums. Both sing. And both have funny nicknames that journalists gave them: Cody Currie was called “the Tom Misch of House music” and Kapote the “Wes Anderson of electronic music”. Makes us laugh but also fits well. And yes: Both are a bit crazy... like every extremely talented musician.

German producer Erik Ellmann makes a strong debut on Esquimau with a refined and radiant entry into the label's catalog-a soulful three-track EP that effortlessly blends deep house sophistication with jazz-infused warmth. 'Suburbs' marks the seventh release on Esquimau, adding another gem to the imprint's growing discography of jazzy, deep, and timeless old-school-inspired sounds. The title track 'Morning Blues' sets the tone with mellow piano progressions layered over a solid drum groove and a subtle walking bassline, firmly rooted in the essence of contemporary deep house. Spacious yet intimate, it's a track made for late-night living rooms or early morning sessions. The second original cut builds on a percussive beat, adding more drive with looping piano motifs and touches of saxophone. Ellmann displays his talent for restraint, allowing the groove to breathe without ever overcrowding the mix. Closing the EP is a standout remix from Shabi, who transforms 'Suburbs' into a classic nudisco-inspired groove, leaning into chord stabs, piano flourishes, and a rolling bassline for maximum floor appeal. It's a tasteful contrast that expands the EP's dynamic range.

Feedasoul Records presents “Let’s Stay With It” EP, a 4 track EP from Brooklyn’s Yasin Hazim, delivering soulful deep house paying homage to both Detroit House music and his cultural heritage. This EP was written as a love letter to deep house, a love letter to the club environment and the people met there, in this space in between, looking for relief and connection.
