Space for experiments and special encounters: We are happy and excited about a night to remember at the sold-out hall of Radialsystem with two amazing musicians from two different spheres meeting on stage for the first time ever. Many thanks to Max Cooper and Tom Hodge, to a fantastic audience and to our great staff for beautiful lighting and amazing sound.

The British composer and pianist Tom Hodge, who already presented his work with Piano Interrupted at UM:LAUT, has been collaborating with the successful electronic music producer Max Cooper since 2013. On 6 March, Hodge and Cooper realised their collaboration for the first time ever in a live form and presented an improvised interpretation of their tracks in between modern classical, ambient, glitch, minimal, and techno.

In the second part of the evening, UM:LAUT proudly presented the German premiere of Max Cooper's stunning audio-visual performance "Emergence": an extraordinary solo show with live electronics and live visuals, in which the renowned producer and biologist with a doctor's degree combines his musical and graphical but also his experimental and scientific interests in one artistic concept.

UM:LAUT is a live platform for artists and labels availing themselves of various musical traditions, realising ambitious and unique projects regardless of genre boundaries. The series' focus lies on the experimental range between classical and electronic instrumentation, composition and improvisation, club and concert hall. Considering itself an open stage for cooperations between artists of different disciplines, UM:LAUT aims to present music in dialogue with other art forms – music giving impulses to film, video, photography, installation, dance and performance.
