Episode 3: The Advocate

Welcome to the inaugural Professional Pods Program (WP3) podcast!

In this podcast, Dr Jeannette Wolfe, the current UMass Chan Joy McCann Professorship for Women in Medicine, introduces the WP3 program. WP3’s mission is to create an intentional, longitudinal space for professionals in medicine and science to enhance their networks and support systems while providing them with action-oriented skills focused on career advancement.

Next, Dr Wolfe and guest Dr. Raquel Belforti, Associate Dean of Education UMass Chan-Baystate, dive  into the evolving world of mentorship—how to find the right mentors, how to be an effective one, and how an individual’s mentorship needs change as their career progresses.  Dr. Belforti also shares key insights on how to create a personal ‘board of directors’, the role of sponsorship and the importance of aligning mentorship with personal career goals.
