Umbr3lla, although a new artist to the amazing Brain Network label, already has releases lined up alongside Cline, and promises other releases to be out this year with Brain Network Recordings. Part of Depth Mode, Umbr3lla is ready to showcase the skills, technique and sound which have got so many so excited for BNRDIGI019 – Mercury/Fallen.

Mercury is a rolling, bubbling quiet storm of a tune, with delicate melody matched to breaks in the intro, soon becoming tighter and more menacing as things progress. Fierce bass explodes in later, while the atmosphere is maintained by healthy doses of effects and samples, which Umbr3lla weaves seamlessly into the track. Bouncing and leaning inside and out, the track builds, bobs and weaves, landing the knockout blow later. On this evidence alone, Umbr3lla is going to be a name to be reckoned with as we go further into 2014.
Fallen is pure dancefloor devastation of the highest
order. Riffing beats, well worked out bass effects and an entire palette of cuts, runs and banging sounds sees this one enter the competition for best neuro tune of the year so far. Umbr3lla digs deep, giving the dancehall what it wants, whilst still maintaining passion, feeling and track structure. Clearly aware of what he’s doing, the producer is creating a legacy through sound, with precision engineering, care and love for the music.

You'd be forgiven for not realising this is Nymfo's first EP for Metalheadz considering he is one of the Netherlands' finest drum and bass exports boasting releases on some of the genre's most revered labels.

Opening with the title track 'Sting Blade', the EP hits hard in true Nymfo fashion, but as he's shown over the last decade and more he is perfectly capable of executing several styles, something exemplified as you journey deeper into the release. Fellow Dutchman and Berghain staple Martyn also features for a vigorous work out on 'What's Happening".
