Sinusoidal Depleneration

This track was inspired from the first preset in the Dune3-Synthesizer. It's the main theme and I used this incredible synth in the whole project. The vocals are from April Bender. Hope you like and have fun.

Fallen Skies

I was not ready for this track. I was not ready.

This track was made for the tenth CHIPS competition. CHIPS is a weekly contest in which members anonymously post entries made along a certain theme and vote on other entries. It's a small-scale competition that emphasizes positive feedback and thonking memes. The tenth compo's theme was "Dreams", and I tried to capture that through the sight of a dragon ascending to a floating island.

For real, I started making this thing in full expectations for it to either flop or be very average in quality. But then I kept going... and it was like the track was a train and I had just been hit by it at full speed. And I guess you could say the flight inside of me took me up there.

A journey in the Aeolian mode. It parallels my previous piece Peaks in a number of ways, but also takes its own liberties and style. It also contains a reference to a pretty notable Pokemon Mystery Dungeon theme somewhere in there. 180-XG seemed like a fool-proof planet. We'd discovered, recollected, rebuilt and progressed. But it did not prepare us what would happen if the planet had started fighting back to our progress. Our technology might've seemed advanced. But it appears to not be the case. The planet has begun invading our systems. An entity had begun appearing on our screens. None of us knew what to do, not at this moment. But as it informed us that it owns this system now... we struck back.

Made for Audio Secret Santa '20. An electronic-orchestral hybrid that speaks to the stoppage of time.

I'm assigning post hoc a metacommentary meaning to this track that ties into one of my previous singles, Zo (https://soundcloud.com/1f1n1ty/zo-1). 2020 has been a crazy experience and I think the songs, side by side, resonate strongly with how my perspective on the state of life has changed.

Some musical notes about Nadir:
- Miyolophone and sleepless helped me with renders of various orchestral sounds. Cool people they are! You should witness their coolness yourself someday
- The sonic progression of the piece is constructed out of about six independent ideas that I figured out how to combine in a meaningful way.
- The crazy section at around 2.25 minutes in has 11-let swing with a 6-5 subdivision, which I didn't plan for when I was writing it but it felt like the appropriate timing
- I've had the main melody for this song in my head for a while so I'm happy that I was able to get it out in a way that I feel like does it some justice. Obviously I'll feel differently about that in a year when I improve some more
