SYNOPSE 
A designada "composição imediata" actual é o fundamento deste trio. Será a partir desta premissa inicial que o grupo desenvolve a sua expressão, criando espaços sonoros diversos que, não sendo directamente referentes a idiomas específicos, não serão alheios aos percursos e influências de cada elemento desta formação. 

Nesse sentido, será previsível na apresentação deste trio, a existência de uma interacção musical intensa e diversificada. Do “free jazz” a tantas outras abordagens das músicas dos nossos dias, passando pela música contemporânea na sua vertente mais aleatória.

SYNOPSIS

The currently called immediate composition is the base of this duo formed by Portuguese violinist Carlos “Zíngaro”, central figure of free jazz and European experimental music, and Ulrich Mitzlaff, a German violoncellist with multidimensional collaborations in several categories.

From this initial premise, they develop their expression and create sound spaces that, without being related to specific languages, are not alien to the paths and influences of every component of their creation.

In this sense, it´s predictable that, during this duo´s performance, there´ll be an intense and diverse musical interaction. The exploratory sensitivity of these musicians goes from free jazz to contemporary music in its most random side, including many other approaches to the music of our time.

Violoncello player (acoustic and electric) & composer

ULRICH MITZLAFF completed his cello studies in the seventies at Tübingen (Germany) with Professor Stefan Zarnescú. Since 1996 he lives at Lisbon, Portugal, where he works as cellist and composer of contemporary and experimental music, improvisation, free-jazz, conceptual composition and sound-art. He collaborates with various artists in multidisciplinary and electro-acoustic projects and he is member of the art-association “granular” (http://www.granular.pt).
