The second release from the Beans’ new EP, The Foam, is a tribute to the Five Points district of Denver, CO. It embraces both the musical history and the modern sounds of the area by combining funk, hip hop, livetronica, and jazz into one composition. The Five Points district, its venues, and its inhabitants are the heartbeat of Denver’s independent scene. Only seemed proper to write a song in its honor. The song is dedicated to a special person close to the band who said, before she passed, that her life “all seems like a dream.” It’s a sentiment that is reflected in the lyrics and overall feeling of “Give & Take".

Michael Kang, David Satori and Sidecar Tommy all share a particular affinity for West African, Middle Eastern and Eastern European music... as well as funky stringed instruments, whether it be bouzouki, saz, ngoni, violas or electric mandolins. Once Kang visited Beats’ studio in Oakland, the track took to life, and 'Bhangra Saanj' was born.
