Drawing from the world of UK bass yet again, Unbeyond Anthologies are pleased to present “Splinters Vol. 2”.

Following up the previous compilation from last year, the second entry in “Splinters” tightens the already closely-knit knot between Unbeyond and classic dubstep influence, comprising four new heaters in a variety of fresh styles.

Newcomer to the label ESKVY drops the opening song “Machina Talk” with by far the most energized flow of the collection, the shuffling percussion carrying along the colourful wobbles and psychedelic synths. “Shutter” by titans.reign invokes a desolate, apocalyptic soundscape with gritty white noise-laden basswork. Inductees QVEST and Thistlewilde team up for “Knit Systems”, which combines the former’s vast atmospheres and technical production with the latter’s abstract poetry and suffocating surrealism. “Super Ego” by Awkwerd closes out the compilation through rattling basses that fuse classic UK tearout and early riddim, topped off with mysterious vocal samples.
