The time has come to release the second compilation on the label by some trustfull friends and newcomers that really deserve more for what they do in the music scene.

From raw materials, groovy textures, intense soundscapes to minimalist and sequenced basslines, do not wait to immerse yourself in this second awakeness.

Say What? 191 is the last release of another exciting year for the label and we wanted to close with a huge bang! Therefore we are happy to welcome Swedish techno producer MarAxe with a stellar EP called 'Pyramid'.

The title track starts off with MarAxe’s typical rolling, raw and unforgiving energy. Chords emerge from the deep and build up in perfect sync - a true testament to the power of raw techno in its purest form, a reminder of the genre’s origins and glimpse into the future.

'Subatomic' is next up on the release and doesn’t let the power fade away, weaving a narrative of dystopian futurism with driving rhtyhms, intricate synth patterns and undulating basslines just the way we like it.

'Larma' follows with an unrelenting onslaught of pounding kicks and hypnotic sequences mixed with an abrasive fusion of metallic clanks and surgings synths, pushing the boundaries of sonic intensity.

'Jura' is the last track of the EP and a declaration of techno’s unrelenting spirit and a praise to the power of raw and unfiltered sound with its hypnotic groove and rolling explosive energy.

Keeping up their fine schedule, the Spazio Disponibile label is back with a fifth excellent EP, this time from Modes. Modes is an artist who is making his debut here, and he is one of a few guys Spazio is creating a platform for in the coming months. 

Modes fits right in with the deeply subliminal, transcendental style of the label and its associated party in Rome. Opener ‘M52’ is a supple and sci-fi mix of smooth rubber kicks and Millsian melodies that are trippy and hypnotic. ‘M51’ is darker and moodier, with smeared pads and grainy ambience making for a big and shadowy chamber of end-of-days techno that is full of foreboding, and finally ‘M44’ is more forceful and brutal, with reverb and electricity static adding texture to the cavernous airwaves. Compelling from start to finish, this is a fantastic debut from Modes.

Once again, Donato Dozzy & Neel's Spazio Disponibile label has come correct with a fantastic new EP, this time from Donato Dozzy in collaboration with US artist Mike Parker. 

Parker has a very unique and well styled brand of techno that fits in perfectly with the deeply hypnotic sounds favoured by Dozzy. Together they cook up four more brain frying cuts that are expertly crafted and meticulously sculpted. 

‘Meltemi’ goes first and is a grainy bit of subterranean ambiance that sounds like being stuck in a cave. ‘Paramegnetism’ then picks up the pace with a loopy and trippy techno track that has a lead synth hook burrowing deep into your brain and sci-fi details and rubber drums roll below. ‘Opalesce’ is then even harder, with more prying loops sending you wild as drums roll on uninterrupted below. It is darkened mind music of the highest order before last cut ‘Stegosauria’ sends out sonar blips and pulses as microbial synths scurry around the ticking groove. Once again then the Spazio label serves up its special brand of techno in real style.

The tenth release on the Spazio Disponibile label comes from co-founder Neel and marks his first solo EP ever. The Italian DJ, producer and mastering engineer is known for his supple and subtle techno both solo or as one half of Voices From the Lake with Donato Dozzy. Previous solo outings appeared on labels like Prologue and Spectrum Spools, and now he shows off his sound design skills once more across three compelling and intense techno cuts on his own label.

A year after their debut on the label, Crossing Avenue return with five more sublime techno tracks on Spazio Disponibile. That first EP remains the only outing for the pair of Andrea La Bombarda and Andrea Montrone, and this new one is another experimental trip into mind melting grooves. 

Opener ‘Laguna’ is a loopy, liquid track of fluttering drums and rubbery kicks that never lets up. ‘Ortica’ is more gloopy and wonky, with firmer kicks and aqueous sounds dripping off the groove, while ‘Lyra’ is beautifully delicate and intricate, with underwater life forms drifting by as gentle xylophones sounds dance around. The masterful minimalism continues on the dark, undulating and alien ‘Vilipendio,’ and things round out with the paranoid voices and panning synths of ‘Mekong’, an unsettling track that has you looking over your shoulder.

Donato Dozzy is back on Spazio Disponibile with two special dance floor (re)works. The long awaited rework of 'Parola' comes first. Previously released on Spectrum Spools back in 2015 on his collaborative album with Anna Caragnano, he spices things up here with the hypnotic vocal loops mangled into trippy and psychedelic patterns with supple, rolling drums taking you deep down into the rabbit hole. 

On the flip, '12H.5' is a rework taken from the soon to be released Donato Dozzy album on Lorenzo Senni's Presto!? Records. It shows the more melodic and dreamy side of Donato, less dark and more transcendental but just as seductive for your mind. A seven minute long trancy trip, floating towards paradise.

Flug - The Collection Quartz [QRZ LP001]

Having carved out a lane truly his own in the often harshly competitive world of techno, Argentinian-born / Barcelona-based producer Sebastian Lopez, alias Flug, has long proven to be no bit player in the scene and his compositions have kept signalling a fighting fit producer, whose highest standards of floor skippering and experimentation-friendly approach have never failed him over the years. Resurfacing three years after the drop of his debut vinyl album, 'In Safe Hiding', Flug clocks in on Quartz Rec with 'Flug I - The Collection' - a long-player bound to reconnect fully with the club and produce very energetic tracks that represent the techno he loves playing during his DJ sets. All tracks were originally written on tour, on the plane or in hotel rooms to better capture the dancefloor's vibe, using field recordings from around the globe and later processed in the studio via his analogue arsenal of preference.
 
Displaying the many octaves of his craft through great spreads of high-impact club engineering and frenzy-whipping mechanics, Flug takes us on a pulsating ride across the history of dance music - taking cues from Detroit's own cosmo-telluric tramplers from back the Underground Resistance armada's heyday, the Roman scene's classic acidulous four-to-the-floors, Berlin's big-room-busting DNA, dredged with a hint of dubby exploratory manoeuvres a la Maurizio. Both mineral in strength but liquid in its flowing abilities, Lopez's newest extension into the deep and intricate realms of club music collages without pastiching, extracts without bleeding dry, forming the backbone to an assortment of cuts that shall awake the restless dancer in you with optimal effect.
 
If tracks like the lushly verbed-out 'Ephos' and 'Sequences From The Black Basement' perhaps best define the track collection's overall headspace, merging Flug's trademark melodic shine with further obliterating rhythms that are sure to lay absolute waste in their wake, others like 'Mars' and 'Hyperventilation' go straight for the jugular with their deadly mix of paced-up martial rhythmics and elliptical grooves gone amok. Just as easy steering the focus into further leftfield-friendly horizons, like on the droney 'Ratio', via the freaky acid-popping of 'Box In A Box' and ambitious width of scope of 'A Different Choice', Lopez delivers something of a life-affirming message with this choice selection of club-oriented delicacies; drawing as much inspiration and energy from the dancefloors Flug got to become intimate with, as he intends to reflect such inspirational forces and energies across the rooms.
