When my grandad at the age of 16 was caught helping himself to apples from the vicars garden who would have thought the vicar would hand him over to local constable.  Incredible to think my grandad was offered a custodial sentence or the opportunity to join the army.  He was forced to sign up on 28th September 1914.  He miraculously survived after losing both legs in an explosion, spending two years in recovery.  The futility of this war still leaves me with enormous sadness and anger against those who perpetuated it. 

As more borders close put yourself in their shoes.......
