In the 39th issue of Koche Records we are dancing on Thomas Carmody (@thomascarmody). Thomas is musician and designer who sees beauty in subtle details. His commitment to the aesthetics of minimalism is transferred to the surrounding world, making it stylish and concise. This is evident not only in the music, but also in literally everything that he touches.

In may 2019, he formed the label spacelunch (@spclnch). The label’s musical direction correlates with Thomas Carmody’s worldview. Although there are no formal genre criteria for release on spclnch, preference is given to light, fresh and elegant music.

Short introduction:

"Long story short, i was born in '84 in Hungary. I also spent 10 years in Amsterdam (NL). Trough my life, the house and techno music was always my soul partner. For many years i produced only dub techno tracks, probably since 2018 i turned back to house with dub elements. The dub-tech and deep house hybrid genre is the closest sound to myself. I had a long journey to find the sound in what i believe, which is between chords and house rhythms. At the moment...because the only constant is change, so never know.

Playing at the Comfort Zone festival at Comfort Creek was fantastic.  There was an amazingly loved up relaxed crowd, & the the sun had just come out for the first time in 3 days.

The set time was 1-2:30 so I made sure I set a vibe for the afternoon and evening with a concoction of twisted disco, euphoria & minimal lusciousness.   Playing on the third day of a festival is a lot of fun.

Thankyou Comfort Zone crew for appreciating my take on minimal.

Quite a few people have asked me for this set, & several of the tracks sparked attention, so here you are! I didn't have a recorder, so from my pre & post-set scribbles I mixed it again jumping around at home with my children.  It was a fun experience to relive (understatement.)

Lunar Santa is in a hurry to congratulate everyone who has behaved well this year. The sack with cherished gifts is stuffed to the top: there's a model of the rocket booster, a brand-new storybook, and even a can of surströmming. The only thing that is not in the bag is a festive compilation for body and soul. The French alchemist will provide it, overcompensating for this lack.

In the middle of a frozen lake, an event dedicated to musical passions takes place. This careful flow of the rhythm warms you up like a mug of hot chocolate on a frosty day. Ki.Mi.'s remix gets the blood pumping in the free space: the relentless light heats, balanced lows and mysterious rustles. Nadja Lind enchants one with her treatment of velvety French, sublime brass and magical synth melody, while Makam sums it up with monumental rumbles, distant pulses and pastel pads.
